Rohan Jaitley re-elected as DDCA president: Rohan Jaitley became the President of Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) for the third consecutive time by easily defeating former Indian cricketer Kirti Azad in the election. 35-year-old Rohan, son of former Union Minister late Arun Jaitley, got 1577 votes while Azad got 777 votes. A total of 2413 votes were cast and 1207 votes were required to win. Rohan was elected unopposed in 2020 when Rajat Sharma stepped down midway. A year later he defeated Advocate Vikas Singh. Late Arun Jaitley was DDCA President for 14 years.

Rohan had the support of former BCCI acting president CK Khanna, who is considered to have great influence in Delhi cricket. Khanna’s daughter Shikha Kumar defeated Rakesh Kumar Bansal and Sudhir Kumar Aggarwal in the election for the post of Vice President. All three got 1246, 536 and 498 votes respectively.

Ashok Kumar (893) was elected secretary while Harish Singla (1328) became the treasurer. Amit Grover (1189) will be the Joint Secretary. All officers are elected for three years. Among others, Anand Verma (985), Manjeet Singh (1050), Navdeep M (1034), Shyam Sharma (1165), Tushar Sehgal (926), Vikas Katyal (1054) and Vikram Kohli (939) were elected to the post of director. Election for this post is held every year.

On the allegations of corruption made by the opposing team after winning the elections, Rohan Jaitley said, “Whatever is said at the time of elections, is said with the intent and intentions of the elections. Sometimes people also say that what they say is I mean, let’s say that there were some shortcomings, some allegations, some problems in the system, then why were they not raised in three years. case in court There is no case against us, no complaint has been raised even once.

After winning the election, Rohan Jaitley said about his plans for his next term, “High Performance Center is a reality, which we are exploring.” Jaitley further said that the players will benefit from the construction of these centers and they will represent not only the state but also the country.

Azad, a member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team, is currently the Trinamool Congress MP from Bardhaman Durgapur seat in West Bengal. He had made allegations of corruption in DDCA. He had alleged that DDCA had charged Rs 17 for installing flood lights. Rs 5 crores were spent whereas only Rs 7.5 crores were spent on the same work in the much bigger Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He also alleged that the DDCA administration had spent only a little of the Rs 140 crore received from the BCCI last year.
