Rs 9 lakh cash, 2 shops, 3 plots, 3 two-wheelers and 3 cars! EOW raids retired bank officer’s house in Ujjain

The team of 30 officers and employees reached Suhane’s residence at around 6 in the morning. According to SP Soni, Suhane has retired on 31 December 2024 after 30 years of service. His income during his service period was around Rs 70 lakh.

Naidunia Representative, Ujjain. The Ujjain unit of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) on Saturday raided the house of a retired assistant manager of the District Cooperative Bank in connection with the disproportionate assets case.

The team has so far received information about assets worth more than Rs 6 crore of the assistant manager. In this, two houses, three plots in Basant Vihar, two shops in the medicine market, three two-wheelers and three cars and nine lakh rupees in cash were found. Apart from this, information about three bank lockers and many bank accounts has also come to light.

Started with a salary of Rs 3,000

  • SP Dilip Soni said that Suhane is originally a resident of Panna. In the year 1992, he was employed at a salary of three thousand rupees per month.
  • His income during 30 years should have been around Rs 70 lakh by now, but he has got property worth crores of rupees.
  • Earlier also a complaint had been received against Suhane regarding loan related corruption in the bank.
  • A case has been registered against Anil Suhane under Section 13(1) B 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 amended 2018 for finding disproportionate assets.

  • Two shops of 600-600 square feet in the central drug market of the city.
  • More than nine lakhs in cash.
  • Gold and silver jewelery worth lakhs of rupees.
  • Three four-wheelers and three two-wheelers.
  • Three bank lockers are yet to be opened.
  • There are many bank accounts in which information about deposits is being obtained.
