Ukraine has launched this latest attack on Russia just 2 days after America fired ATACMS missiles on Moscow. Because a day after the American missile attack, Britain has also been given permission to use its missiles on Russian targets in Ukraine.

Fears of worsening war increase

After this move by America and Britain, the fear of war becoming more severe after Ukraine attacked Russia with Western weapons. The attacks were widely reported by Russian war correspondents on Telegram. An official confirmed this new attack on condition of anonymity. However, a spokesman for Ukraine’s General Staff said he had no information. While Kiev says it now needs the ability to defend itself by attacking Russian targets in the war, which entered its 1,000th day this week.

Sound of missile attack heard

Russian war correspondents posted video on Telegram that they said included the sound of missiles striking the Kursk region, which borders northeastern Ukraine.
At least 14 large explosions could be heard, most of them preceded by the sharp whistle of an incoming missile. In the video shot in the residential area, black smoke is seen rising far. The pro-Russian Two Measures channel on Telegram said Ukraine fired 12 Storm Shadows in the Kursk region and clearly showed images of fragments of the missiles, named Storm Shadow.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s spokesman declined to comment.

Britain had previously given Ukraine permission to use Storm Shadows, which have a range of more than 250 km (155 mi) within Ukrainian territory. The Kiev government is pressuring Western partners for permission to use such weapons to attack targets inside Russia. It received full approval to use ATACMS from the US President this week, two months before Biden leaves office in January 2025.
