America has temporarily closed its embassy in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine today because it is believed that Russia may launch a nuclear attack on Ukraine. This information has been given by the Consular Affairs of the US State Department in a statement. A statement posted on the website of the US embassy in Kiev said that “out of an abundance of caution, the embassy has been closed and embassy staff have been instructed to remain in a secure location.”

American citizens advised to take shelter

“The US Embassy has advised American citizens to prepare to take immediate shelter in case an air alert is declared.” The warning came a day after Ukraine took advantage of new permission from the outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden to use US ATACMS missiles to attack Russian positions on the 1000th day of the war.

Russia has been warning for several months

For the past several months, Russia has been warning that if Washington allows Ukraine to fire American, British or French missiles into Moscow, then NATO members will be considered to be directly taking part in the Ukraine war. . Russian President Vladimir Putin had said in October that if Ukraine attacks with a US-made missile, it will be retaliated against and Russia has also changed its nuclear policy.

Russia reduced nuclear attacks

However, Putin on Tuesday lowered the nuclear strike threshold in response to a broader range of conventional strikes, as nuclear risks rise amid the highest tensions between Russia and the West in more than half a century.
