Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital.
Actor Saif Ali Khan suffered injuries in the attack at his home in Bandra, Mumbai, after which he was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after five days of treatment. His surgery was done in the hospital. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and daughter Sara Ali Khan had reached the hospital to bring Saif home. However, doctors have advised him to take rest for a few more days to fully recover. At the same time, the police has made important revelations in the case of this attack and has given information about the attacker.
Latest update on Saif’s attacker
- Mumbai Police said on Tuesday that Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shahzad Mohammad alias Rohilla Amin Faqir, arrested for the knife attack on Saif Ali Khan on January 15, had entered the country illegally seven months ago. Before going to Mumbai, he had used the Aadhaar card of a person resident in West Bengal to buy a SIM.
- According to the police, Fakir had changed his name to Vijay Das and had entered India illegally by crossing the Dawki river seven months ago.
- According to a Mumbai Police official, Fakir stayed in West Bengal for a few weeks and used the Aadhaar card of a local person to buy a SIM card before coming to Mumbai in search of a job.
- Preliminary investigation revealed that the SIM card of the accused was registered in the name of Khukumoni Jahangir Sekha, a resident of West Bengal. The officer said that Fakir tried to get Aadhaar card made for himself too, but failed.
- In Mumbai, the accused chose to work at places where he was not required to produce documents and Amit Pandey, a labor contractor, helped him get housekeeping jobs in pubs and hotels in Worli and Thane.
- According to Mumbai Police, after examining Fakir’s cellphone, the police found that he had made several phone calls to Bangladesh and had used some mobile applications to call his family in the neighboring country.
- Saif Ali Khan (54) was injured multiple times by an intruder who attacked him with a knife inside his apartment on the 12th floor of the building on January 16. Saif’s surgery was done at Lilavati Hospital.
- The Metropolitan Magistrate’s court in Bandra has sent the accused to police custody for five days.
Police recreated the entire crime scene
The police reached actor Saif Ali Khan’s house on Tuesday morning and recreated the entire crime scene. The Mumbai Police, which was investigating the attack on the actor, had also brought along the accused Shehzad, so that the entire crime scene could be understood. The police learned from the accused how he had attacked Saif. While recreating the crime scene, the accused also told the police everything about how he had entered Saif’s house. Police had arrested Mohammad Shehzad, the person who attacked actor Saif on January 17. After this he was presented in the court, from where he was sent on police remand for five days.
