Mumbai Police held a press conference today regarding the accused of attack on Saif Ali Khan. During this, DCP Zone 9 Dixit Gedam, while addressing the media persons, said that on January 16, at 2 am in the morning, actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his residence. FIR was registered and one accused has been arrested. His name is Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, his age is 30 years. According to the DCP, the accused had entered Saif Ali Khan’s house with the intention of theft. He will be produced in the court and a demand for custody will be made. We suspect that he is of Bangladeshi origin, but we are currently investigating. The primary evidence that he is a Bangladeshi is that he does not have Indian documents. We suspect that the accused is of Bangladeshi origin and hence sections related to the Passport Act have been added to the case. He will be presented in the court today and police custody will be demanded.
35 police teams caught the accused day and night
DCP Dixit Gedam further said, “Initial investigation suspects the accused to be a Bangladeshi and after entering India illegally, he changed his name. He was using his present name Vijay Das. He was 5-6 He came to Mumbai a month ago and then worked in a housekeeping agency in Mumbai. The accused of attack on Saif Ali Khan will be presented in the court today for police remand. The police had formed more than 35 teams to nab the accused. Bandra Police will present Bijoy Das in Bandra Holiday Court and demand police custody. Accused Bijoy Das used to work in a hotel named Blabar in Hiranandani Estate, Thane. The accused was once given the Best Employee Award in the same hotel where he previously worked. Later he left the job.

Around 12 o’clock on Saturday night, Crime Branch and Bandra Police received information about the presence of the accused at a construction site in Hiranandani Estate, after which Zone 6 DCP Navnath Dhable was informed so that the accused does not escape. DCP Navnath’s team immediately left for the police station, along with which the Crime Branch team also reached, but the accused had received information about the arrival of the police. After this, the accused hid in dense thorny bushes at a construction site. There was difficulty in finding the accused because he was hiding in the bushes inside the forest. In such a situation, even the help of torch and mobile torch had to be taken and the accused was surrounded by the crime branch and police in the bushes from all sides, after which he was arrested from the thorny bushes. After the arrest, Bandra Police will present the accused in Bandra Police Holiday Court today. After hours of hard work, the accused was caught from thorny bushes around 2 o’clock in the night.
Let us tell you that on January 16, actor Saif Ali Khan was injured at the hands of an attacker who entered his house late at night. He himself reached Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai in an auto, where his surgery was performed.
