Sanju Samson will be like Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer! BCCI will investigate this decision before Champions Trophy

After the embarrassing defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on the Australia tour, BCCI has taken some strict steps and issued a 10-point guideline for the players. The most important step taken by the board to maintain ‘discipline’ in the team is that all the players play in the domestic circuit. Even before this, the board had given a clear message that the players will have to play domestic cricket and for not doing so, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were punished. But now the board has forced even senior players to play domestic cricket. This decision of the board has come at a time when the team is to be announced for the T20 and ODI series against England as well as the Champions Trophy.

Before the announcement of Team India for the England tour, there is news that BCCI has decided to investigate Sanju Samson’s decision to stay out of the domestic tournament. Kerala wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson had decided to stay out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The report claims that this mistake may prove costly for Sanju and he may not get a place in Team India for the Champions Trophy.

Times of India Report According to reports, days ahead of the selectors’ meeting to pick the ODI squad for the three-match series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy, the BCCI is planning to investigate why Sanju Samson did not take part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. . According to reports, top BCCI officials and selectors are not happy with Samson’s decision to stay out of the tournament as they have tried to ensure that domestic cricket remains relevant.

The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) did not select a wicketkeeper after Samson expressed his unavailability for the preparation camp before the tournament. KCA secretary Vinod S Kumar had said that the association did not want any young player to lose his place due to uncertainty over Samson’s availability.

BCCI sources say that the selectors should discuss this matter before choosing the team for the Champions Trophy on January 19. BCCI sources said, “The selectors and the board are very clear about the importance of domestic cricket. Last year, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer lost central contracts for not playing domestic matches without permission. In Samson’s case too, the board And no reason was given to the selectors as to why he could not play the tournament. All that is known so far is that he spends most of his time in Dubai.”

Samson has been selected for the home T20 series against England next week. However, since the Vijay Hazare Trophy is played in the 50-over format, it becomes an important tournament before the Champions Trophy. The source said, “The selectors would want a valid reason. Otherwise, it would be difficult to consider him for the ODI season. Samson has a bitter history with KCA, but he will have to sort that out to play domestic cricket. Not so There may be some misunderstanding between the state association and him and he may miss the game time.”

The report further states that “He played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before the Vijay Hazare Trophy.” Samson is being considered a contender for one of the two wicketkeepers along with Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel. There is uncertainty about Rahul’s place as a wicketkeeper in longer formats after battling hamstring injuries in the last two years. It will be interesting to see how the selectors balance the team if Rahul is not available for wicketkeeping.
