State Bureau, Naiduniya: Bhopal. The black money of former transport department constable Saurabh Sharma has exposed the nexus of mafia, politicians and bureaucrats in Madhya Pradesh. Right from the appointment of Saurabh to the irregularities in the Transport Department, Congress is also cornering senior BJP leaders by putting them in the dock.

Till now, investigation into the irregularities in Saurabh’s appointment has not been initiated. Lokayukta, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department, these three investigating agencies are engaged in the investigation, but have not yet been able to reach the bottom to know why and how the politicians and officers promoted a transport constable.

Saurabh a pawn in the game of corruption

Saurabh was like a pawn in the game of corruption, there is no harm on the leaders and officials who play tricks. It is clear that such a big mistake cannot happen without collaboration. Lokayukta raid was conducted at Saurabh’s place on 18th December.

It has been a month but three investigating agencies have not been able to catch Saurabh. Till now, undisclosed assets worth Rs 93 crore have been found in the raids of Lokayukta, Income Tax and ED at the places of Saurabh and his close ones.

Black earning started in BJP government

This continued to increase even during the Congress rule. In 2016, during the BJP government, Saurabh had got a compassionate appointment in the Transport Department, which is under question. After this, his interference and black money in the transport department increased. In December 2018, Congress government was formed in the state which remained till March 2020.

It is alleged that during this period Saurabh had unilateral rule in the department. After this, this plant of corruption continued to flourish in the BJP government also. Till his resignation in June 2023, Saurabh made illegal earnings worth crores of rupees. Congress is aggressive in the whole matter while the BJP government is silent.

Congress has got an opportunity to corner BJP even during its rule, because the then Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput is now in BJP. Rajput is also calling the allegations baseless and claiming that the investigation has turned out milk of milk and water of water.

Former Transport Minister Bhupendra Singh

Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Hemant Katare has alleged that Bhupendra Singh had written a notesheet recommending the compassionate appointment of Saurabh. However, he has completely rejected the allegations and even said that if he proves the allegations, he will retire from politics.

Former Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput

Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijay Singh, while talking to journalists, had alleged that there was pressure on the then Chief Minister Kamal Nath to give the transport department to Govind Singh Rajput and he was close to Saurabh Sharma. Appointments were made only on his instructions.

Even after getting the diary, receipts and RTO’s seal, the officers are not affected.

A few days after becoming the Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav had ordered an investigation into the nursing scam from the beginning, so that the wrongdoers could be identified and action could be taken. It has been a month since the scam in the Transport Department was exposed, but the officials who gave exemption to Saurabh for black money have not been identified.

The names of senior officials of the transport department are mentioned in the diary allegedly found from Saurabh’s residence. In a document, TM and TC were found written in short form, which are believed to be Transport Minister and Transport Commissioner respectively.

During the raid, empty receipt boxes used at transport checkpoints and some RTO seals were recovered from his office in Bhopal. Even after this, the scope of investigation is limited to Saurabh.

This is the reason why Digvijay Singh has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding an investigation by Income Tax and ED instead of Lokayukta. Other Congress leaders are demanding a CBI inquiry.

That’s why questions on the government

• A complaint against Saurabh regarding black money was made in EOW about a year ago, but the investigation was closed as baseless.
• Many complaints of department officials reached from officials to transport ministers but no one took it seriously.
• No investigation was initiated regarding Saurabh’s appointment.
• Saurabh Jaipuria was building a school in Bhopal. Questions were also raised regarding its permission, but the government is silent.

Builder accused of protecting former Chief Secretary

The second case in the state during this time is of Income Tax raid at the house of builder Rajesh Sharma. In this, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Hemant Katare had accused former Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains of promoting Rajesh Sharma.

Katare had mentioned his role in getting permission for the Central Park project. There are plots of big BJP leaders and officials here. Bains has clarified that the land he had purchased was sold within a year and details of the same were given to the government.

Chief Minister said- Transport blocks closed in our government

In the entire matter, the BJP government is firmly maintaining its decision to close the transport checkpoints. On December 24, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had said that after the formation of the government, many tough decisions were taken, one of them was the closure of toll barriers.

The government has also decided to deal sternly with complaints on toll. The state government is committed to zero tolerance for corruption and good governance.
