Nayeduniya Representative, Bhopal: Former constable Saurabh Sharma, who has been a symbol of the black earnings of the Transport Department in Madhya Pradesh for the last 40 days, was arrested by the Lokayukta police on Tuesday. On Monday, he submitted before the Special Judge of Bhopal District Court for surrender.
The Lokayukta police arrested Saurabh before the hearing was to be held on Tuesday morning. Saurabh advocate Rakesh Parashar shared this information in the morning with the media. He described the arrest as illegal.
It is shocking that despite this, the Lokayukta police team refused to arrest, but by noon, the Director General of Lokayukta Jaideep Prasad confirmed the arrest. Later in the afternoon, the Lokayukta police along with Saurabh also produced his partner Chetan Gaur in the court and demanded remand.
Remand for both of them till 4 February
The court has approved the remand of both till February 4. At the same time, the Income Tax Department and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have also become active as soon as the information about the arrest. Both agencies have registered an FIR against him.
Crores recovered in raids
Let us know that on 19 December 2024, the Lokayukta team raided Saurabh Sharma’s house in Arera Colony. During the raid, the car of Chetan Gaur, close to him, was found standing in Mandora village of Ratibad police station area.
The Income Tax Department team had touched documents of cash of Rs 11 crore and 52 kg of gold from the car. Saurabh was absconding since that time. The Lokayukta, Income Tax Department and ED have registered a case on it.

At the same time, the politics of Madhya Pradesh has also been hot due to the Saurabh episode. Congress leaders are accusing BJP leaders of giving him protection. Several BJP leaders, including the former Transport Minister, have been accused in getting Saurabh compassionate appointment.

Saurabh is alleged to have earned a large syndicate of recovery on toll-knacks with the alliance of officers and leaders while constable in the transport department, and earned a black earnings and invested this money in benami properties. After earning crores of rupees, he took voluntary retirement from the Transport Department a few years ago.
After the arrest of Saurabh, it is believed that many major Rajfash may be revealed during the inquiry of the investigating agencies. However, the Congress leaders also allege that due to the protection of the ruling leaders, it can be tried to save him.

Lokayukta was interrogating Saurabh Sharma, when Saurabh’s business partner Sharad Jaiswal also reached the Lokayukta office. He was accompanied by his lawyer. He talked about making a statement to the Lokayukta officials. The Lokayukta later arrested him. The Lokayukta police will present him in court on Wednesday.

DG Lokayukta Jaideep Prasad said in the Lokayukta office that Saurabh Sharma has been arrested, when reporters asked him from where he was arrested, he said that he had been done from one place. He did not inform where he was arrested. While Saurabh’s lawyer spoke of arresting from outside the court.
