He further explained- ‘The biggest reason for this delay was to set up lighting properly. As Paro’s house is made of glass, the lighting of that set was not easy. If I do not even work fast, I needed time to light up as big sets. The same problem was with Chandramukhi’s house. The entire set was so long, when my team saw the set for the first time, we were shocked how to shoot the film. In the circle of lighting of the film’s set, weddings were stopped inside Mumbai, as Sanjay Leela Bhansali had all the light generators of Mumbai stand on the set of Devdas. There was a time when it was being said that marriages in Mumbai had to stop or had to do postpon, because we used all the generators of the city for the film.

Binod further said that when Sanjay Leela Bhansali was shooting for ‘Devdas’, he was going through financial troubles, but he left no stone unturned in the film. He did not want to make any kind of compromise with Devdas. Binod says – ‘Sanjay once told me that I should not compromise and keep doing work well. Rather, there was an economic problem with Devdas at one time, even then Sanjay told me that I should not compromise with the film.
