Amit Shah launches Bharatpol portal at Bharat Mandapam.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Bharatpol portal in Delhi on Tuesday morning. During this, Shah said – Terrorism is the biggest scourge against democracy, human rights, economic progress and world peace, which we must not let win.
He further said that terrorism is a serious threat to global peace and security. The funding of terrorism is much more dangerous, because this funding weakens the world economy by nourishing terrorism.
Shah said that Bharatpol will take international scrutiny of our country into a new era. Earlier CBI was the only agency that was recognized to work with Interpol, but now through Bharatpol every Indian agency and police of all states will be able to easily connect with Interpol.
The Home Ministry said that the Bharatpol portal has been created by CBI. With this, various investigative agencies of India will get immediate help from the International Police for their investigation. Through this portal, the police of the states will also be able to seek details of criminals who have fled abroad and their crimes from Interpol.
Amit Shah awarded Police Medal to 35 CBI officers. He has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service and the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in investigation.
Bharatpol portal provides 4 facilities to investigative agencies
- At present, information was shared with CBI, Interpol officers and SP, DSP level unit officers only through letters, emails and faxes.
- Now with the help of Bharatpol portal, CBI will be able to directly connect with Interpol officers at the central and state level. Information will be shared on the portal itself. There will be no need for email or fax.
- Now all the agencies of the country will be able to track criminals together on crimes like cyber crime, financial crime, online radicalization, drugs trafficking, human trafficking.
- With the help of Bharatpol, the state police will also be able to ease the process of issuing red notices and other color code notices against criminals.
2 reasons for bringing Bharatpol portal…
- Home Ministry official said that the number of international crimes including cyber crime, financial crime, online terrorism, organized crime, drugs smuggling, human trafficking etc. is increasing. Many times help from other countries has to be taken during their investigation.
- Also, even today it is a challenge for the security agencies to bring back the criminals who have committed crimes in the country and fled abroad and get them punished. For this, Indian agencies take the help of other foreign security agencies including Interpol. Now through Bharatpol, data of criminals will be immediately available from Interpol and other countries.
Shah honored 35 CBI officers
In the program, Amit Shah honored 35 CBI officers with Police Medal. These officers have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service and the Union Home Minister’s medal for investigating different cases.
