Didn’t play a character like Nimrat
I had auditioned for this film. Earlier I had auditioned for another role, but I was not selected in it. After that I auditioned for the role of Nimrat and I got it. I had never played such a character before. I am playing the role of a very innocent village girl. As far as imbibing this character is concerned, I myself live a very simple life in my personal life. I just had to work on my language. I had to work on Punjabi language as the people living in Pind speak. Even while speaking Hindi, I had to bring this aspect into the language. I reached the set 10 days before the shooting started. Sonu sir wanted this so that I would be completely comfortable and ready by the day of shooting. The film was shot in Pind, Punjab, so I spent most of the time with the common people there. I used to do everything including eating food and making tea with her, through which I prepared myself for the role.

Sonu Sir is also the actor, director and writer of this film. He was managing backstage. He was managing the shoot in front of the camera. Call time is very early in the morning so after the shooting even if it is night. He goes to his gym. He was very humble and grounded with everyone. If someone would come to meet him on the set and ask for work, he would give them a role too. (Laughs) I didn’t know it was so easy to become an actor. There is no director’s ignorance in him like I am describing. You have to do it that way. He also used to listen to my vision during the shooting. He always told me to do whatever you feel.
The biggest challenge related to shooting
If I talk about the biggest challenge related to the shooting of the film Fateh, the biggest challenge was cold. Our shoot was taking place in the cold. Anyway, we girls feel cold a lot. I was recovering from infection and I don’t know how the cold increased so much in Amritsar. I used to sleep with ten blankets, still I used to get fever. However, my health deteriorated. I was going with the character because there were some scenes in the character where I had to look tired.
And refused Yash Raj’s series
As I have reiterated many times before that I belong to a Rajput family, I have some values. I will not do intimate scenes or bold scenes because my family cannot see me like this. I did not do the film Kabir Singh for this reason. Recently I was offered a series by Yash Raj. His name would probably be Malang. I was going to be opposite Vaibhav Raj Gupta. Casting director Shanu ma’am told me that you have been locked. After that he told me about the intimate scene. I said that I will have to ask my family. She was shocked. What are you saying? I said that the situation is a bit strange. I can’t explain to you, I am the first actress in my family, so I will have to ask my family. I have the freedom to choose my career, so I cannot do anything that goes against their value system. The family members, after hearing about the intimate scene, said that see which is right for you.
