- -Jyotirlinga: Devotees coming from all over the country are facing trouble -15 UJJ-1 Mahakal Temple
Naidunia Representative, Ujjain. The arrangement of Laddus Prasad in Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple has started going wrong. Devotees are not getting adequate quantity of Prasad since last two-three days. The state-of-the-art vending machine installed for selling Prasad is also broken. At the counter, the employees are selling Prasad in packets of only 200 grams. In this matter, officers say that the system will be in order soon.
Laddu Prasad sales affected in 2024
In the year 2024, the income of many important items in Mahakal Temple was affected, this also includes Laddus Prasad. In the year 2023, Laddu Prasad worth Rs 69 crore 40 lakh 80 thousand 441 was sold. Whereas in the year 2024, Prasad worth Rs 54 crore 50 lakh 14 thousand 522 was sold, which is about Rs 15 crore less than last year. The main reason for affected sales is said to be the supply not matching the demand.
Two employees engaged in security of closed machine
The plan of selling laddus from the machine in Mahakal temple does not seem to be successful. Every day the machine stops due to technical fault. Even on Wednesday the machine was closed since morning. The temple committee has deployed two guards for its security. People associated with the temple system say that one employee at the counter is selling laddus without any problem and two employees have to be deployed on this machine in different shifts. This scheme should be stopped.
- Laddu Prasad is sold by Mahakal Temple Committee from the counters located in the premises. The committee sells Prasad in packs of 100 grams, 200 grams, 500 grams and one kilo.
- Their prices are Rs 50, 100, 200 and 400 respectively. For the last two-three days, there is shortage of Laddus Prasad in the temple and Prasad is being provided to the visitors only in packets of 200 grams.
- The visitors are upset due to non-fulfillment as per the demand. Devotees say that there is difficulty in transporting small packets.
- If they want to buy one kilo of Prasad, they have to buy five packets of 200 grams each. Prasad in small packets also becomes expensive.
- We have to pay extra Rs 100 for buying one kg Prasar. Because a 500 gram packet is priced at Rs 200 and a 1 kg packet is priced at Rs 400.
- Whereas five packets of 200 grams each come for Rs 500. The temple committee should improve the system for the convenience of the devotees.
