He has also made it clear that his aim is to represent the Indian national team in international cricket. Recently, Simran is in the headlines after she was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.9 crore in the Women’s Premier League 2025 auction. Simran is the most expensive uncapped Indian player sold in the Women’s Premier League auction. This young batsman revealed that Virat is her favorite player and her goal is to represent India, for which she is making every possible effort.
Simran told ANI, “My dream is to meet Virat Kohli once. I just want one jersey – India’s and that’s why I am making all these efforts.” While talking to NDTV, Simran said, “The future is that I have to give the India jersey to my parents. They have to make me wear it themselves. The only plan is for India. I just want one jersey.”
Let us tell you, there was a bidding war in the auction between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants regarding the uncapped batsman. Simran’s base price was Rs 5 lakh and she joined the Giants with a whopping sum of Rs 1.9 crore. In the first season of the tournament, Simran played for Gujarat Giants only. During this period he participated in 9 matches.
While thanking the franchise after the auction, Simran said, “I thank the GG (Gujarat Giants) family. After getting such a huge amount, now it is my responsibility to perform for them. I thank my parents. Because there isn’t much support in my community for things like this, but they supported me.”
Speaking about the auction, Gujarat Giants head coach Michael Klinger said that the team’s priority is to acquire players who can make an impact in the playing eleven and Simran is a valuable addition to the team. Michael Klinger said, “Simran Sheikh is another valuable player for the team. She brings a lot of power and her strike rate is impressive. There are very few players in women’s cricket who can do that. I think she will be one of the best batsmen for the Indian batsmen.” “Will create healthy competition between them.”
