A new era has begun in India’s space history. A space startup company from Bengaluru has launched a private satellite constellation i.e. Constellation in space on Wednesday. This is the country’s first private imaging satellite constellation. Space startup company Pixxel has developed it. Google and Accenture support this startup company. Pixxel has launched the first 3 satellites of its ‘Firefly’ constellation from the Falcon-9 rocket of Elon Musk’s company ‘SpaceX’. They were launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California state of America.
Engineer friends named Awais Ahmed and Kshitij Khandelwal started Pixxel in 2019.
When the startup company was started, both of them were studying at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. During this period he had earned 95 million dollars. In this way Pixxel became a milestone in India’s satellite sector. Pixel has launched 3 Firefly satellites 550 kilometers below the Earth’s orbit. This satellite will monitor the space objects orbiting the Earth.

Former ISRO Chief congratulated
The former chief of India’s space agency Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has congratulated Pixxel on this success. Former ISRO Chief Dr. Somnath told NDTV, “I am hopeful that the impact of this hyperspectral imaging capability will prove to be a big boon for the sector.”

Indian Space Association praised
Indian Space Agency (ISF) General Director Lieutenant General Anil Bhat (Retd) said, “Pixel has achieved a milestone by giving the world a high-end imaging satellite. This step of Pixel will prove to be a milestone, because hyperspectral satellite “Imaging has the potential to play a game-changing role for many applications, especially the defense sector.”

Pixel has already signed deals with more than 60 clients, including the US National Reconnaissance Organisation, Rio Tinto, and British Petroleum.
