Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is on India tour, has given an important statement regarding Adani Group in an interview. Dissanayake has made it clear that he has no problem with the work of Adani Group in Sri Lanka.
ET In an exclusive interview, Dissanayake said that he is not concerned with Adani Group’s business with other countries but he is only concerned with Adani Group’s business in Sri Lanka.
Adani Group’s big investment in Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan President Dissanayake said that we do not see things through the eyes of another country. He told that Adani Group has a big investment in Sri Lanka. Our government is in favor of more Indian investment. Our government is making ways for this. We are only concerned about investment and development here.
Adani Ports to finance Colombo West International Terminal project in Sri Lanka
Recently Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone indicated that it will finance the Colombo West International Terminal project in Sri Lanka with its own money and will not take American funding. With this, the company withdrew the request given to DFC to finance the Colombo West International Terminal Project.
Dissanayake confident on Adani Group’s revenue
Last year, Adani Group received $553 million funding from the US International Development Finance Corp (DFC) for the Colombo West International Terminal. Responding to the decision, Dissanayake said, “I understand that they have abandoned it, but it seems they have their own sources of revenue or income for it.”
Talking about the projects of Adani Group, Dissanayake said that they are completing the Western Terminal of Colombo Port. They are also considering investing in the energy sector. Apart from this he is considering many investments.
