Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin celebrated his 72nd birthday on Saturday. On this occasion, he said- I take a pledge on birthday that I will oppose imposing Hindi language. The central government is implementing the TRAI Language Policy in the name of promoting regional languages. In fact, this policy is a conspiracy to impose Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states.
Stalin appreciated Punjab and Telangana that they had made Punjabi and Telugu mandatory in schools. At the same time, the two states have highlighted the lies of the BJP government at the Center that the TRAI language policy is being implemented to promote and spread regional languages under the New Education Policy.
Stalin said- The announcement of Punjab and Telangana governments has made it clear that it is a way to identify its major languages and avoid getting caught in their (central government) trap. Like Tamil Nadu, every state should do this to save its mother tongue.

Your birthday wishes have inspired me to work more determined to work and to carry forward the struggle to protect the Tamil caste and language. On this birthday, I pledge to stop the main language from imposing and save the Tamil language.

Under NEP 2020, students must learn 3 languages, but no language has been made mandatory. States and schools have the freedom to decide which 3 languages they want to teach.
It has been recommended to study in primary classes (class 1 to 5) in mother tongue or local language. At the same time, it is mandatory to study 3 languages in middle classes (class 6 to 10). It will be English or a modern Indian language in a non-Hindi speaking state. If the second and 12th school wants to give foreign language as an alternative.
Hindi second language among non-Hindi speaking states The emphasis is on studying classes up to 5th and where possible in the mother tongue, local or regional language. At the same time, Hindi can be taught as a second language in non-Hindi speaking states. Also, in Hindi speaking states, there may be another Indian language (eg Tamil, Bengali, Telugu etc.) as a second language.
It is not mandatory to adopt a language States and schools have the freedom to decide which three languages they will teach. There is no provision to impose any language compulsorily.
