On Sunday night, unidentified thieves attacked Lord Mahavir Digambar Jinalaya at Chaitanyadham in Manavar in Dhar district and stole about 20 kg of silver jewelery and accumulated donations for six months. The total estimated amount of theft is said to be around Rs 14 lakh.
The complainant Rakesh Jain said in the report to the police that the temple is opened daily at 5 am and is closed at 9:30 pm. Due to being out of priest Ratnesh Jain, his wife Aarti Jain locked the main gate of the temple after offering prayers at 9:30 pm on 23 February.
The theft was revealed in the morning
When Aarti arrived to open the Jain temple at 5:30 am on 24 February, she saw that the main door was open and the locks were broken. On this, he immediately informed Rakesh Jain. When he reached the spot with other people of the society, it was found that the doors inside the temple were also damaged and the precious silver items were missing.
CCTV footage captured incident
Investigation of the CCTV cameras installed in the temple revealed that at 2:32 pm, three crooks broke the doors of the temple and entered inside. Everyone had tied a cloth on his face. The entire incident of theft lasted for about an hour and the thieves escaped from the back of the temple at 3:28 pm.

- 4 kg silver Shantidhara Kalash (4 Nos)
- 2.4 kg silver urn (Gaddu)
- 3 kg silver pitcher
- 350 grams of silver
- 3 crowns of 500 grams of silver
- 2 kg silver 8 Ashtapratihari
- 500 grams of silver and 4 umbrellas
- 200 grams of small silver bell
- 6 months accumulated iron donation
Police started investigation
As soon as the information was received, SDOP Anu Beniwal and the station in -charge Ishwar Singh Chauhan reached the spot with the police force. The team of fingerprint expert and dog squad from the district headquarters has also started investigating.
The society has demanded the police for the arrest of the accused and the recovery of stolen goods at the earliest. The police have registered a case against unknown thieves under sections 331 (4) and 305 and investigation is on.
