There is a protest in Pithampur against the destruction of toxic waste of Union Carbide Factory of Bhopal. The protests that had been going on since Friday morning intensified in the evening. The crowd pelted stones at the police at the Power House intersection. After this the police lathi-charged the protesters.

Earlier in the evening, the police lathicharged people at Chhatra Chhaya intersection. In the afternoon, the police also lathicharged the people protesting at Goodluck intersection in Pithampur. Police dispersed the protesters using water cannon. Actually, the protesters blocked the intersection. Due to which vehicles got stuck on the highway for about 7 kilometers.
The main protest demonstration is being held at Maharana Pratap Bus Stand in Pithampur. In which Pithampur Bachao Samiti, Pithampur Raksha Manch, Congress, BJP, Rathore Samaj, Kshatriya Samaj, Sen Samaj, Tribal Samaj, All Trade Union and other organizations are included. Pithampur has also been closed today (Friday).
Apart from this, local people are protesting in front of Manal Hotel on Sanwariya Temple, Akolia Square, Bardari Square, Chhatrachaya Gate, Azad Square, Goodluck Square, AB Road. Due to the demonstration, there was a long traffic jam at Azad Square, Akolia Square, Chhatra Chhaya Square and Goodluck Square. Here, a young man named Sandeep Raghuvanshi, who was on fast for the last 36 hours, has ended his fast.
Two youths tried to commit suicide, both got burnt. During the morning protest, two people poured petrol on themselves, then someone opened fire from behind, due to which both the people got burnt. He has been admitted to Choithram Hospital in Indore. The names of both are Rajkumar Raghuvanshi and Raju Patle.
