In the mega auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, 2 players from Haryana and Punjab have been sold for Rs 36 crore. These include Mohali bowler Arshdeep Singh and Jind spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Both of them have been bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18-18 crores.

Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the most expensive Indian spinner in IPL history. Last season, Chahal played for Rajasthan, and he took 18 wickets in 15 matches. Debuted in IPL in 2019 Arshdeep Singh was selected to play for Punjab in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 19 September 2018. Then he got a place in the Indian team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In December 2018, he was selected by Kings XI Punjab for the 2019 IPL.
He was the second highest wicket taker of the team. He was praised for his good performance. In November 2019, he was selected in India’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
