Terrible fire in Los Angeles

Los Angeles: The catastrophic fire in Los Angeles continues to burn. Meanwhile, strong winds are forecast, in view of which additional water tankers and a large number of fire brigades have been sent. Thousands of houses in this area have been destroyed due to the fire and at least 26 people have lost their lives. Bright pink fire retardant chemicals were sprayed from planes on homes and hills, while crews and fire engines were being deployed near particularly sensitive spots with dry bushes.

people are in shock

Tabitha Trosen, who was shocked by the fire, said that she is afraid that the danger of fire could reach the area around her. Trosen said she is preparing to leave the house with her cats. She said that she has packed her things and is also thinking about what she might lose. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and other officials have said the region is prepared to face the new threat. Meanwhile, additional firefighters have been brought in from the US as well as Canada and Mexico. Earlier, officials had faced criticism for their first response to the fire incident.

wind is the biggest problem

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said, “We are absolutely better prepared.” Wind speeds are expected to increase from late Monday night into Tuesday morning. However, they are not expected to reach stormy levels like last week. Yet Marrone warned that winds could prevent firefighting planes. “If wind speeds reach 70 mph (112 kph), it will be very difficult to contain the fire,” he said.

warning issued

Fire officials advised residents in high-risk areas to leave homes if they felt in danger and not wait for formal evacuation orders. The National Weather Service warned that the weather would be “particularly dangerous” on Tuesday, when wind gusts could reach up to 65 mph (105 kph).
