Today we are sharing the story of one such youth, who not only fulfilled his dreams but also proved that with strong will and hard work, every impossible can become possible. This is the story of Mayank Prakash, who created history by securing 14th position in the 66th BPSC exam in his very first attempt. Mayank, who hails from Purnia district of Bihar, is now working on the post of State Tax Assistant Commissioner. He shared his success journey and experiences with Jagran Josh, which is an inspiration for every competitive student.
Know Mayank’s educational journey
Mayank Prakash was born in Purnia district of Bihar, which is known for its simplicity and cultural heritage. Mayank completed his primary education from DAV Public School, Purnia, where he studied till class 10th. After this, he completed his 12th from the prestigious Delhi Public School, Bokaro, Jharkhand. Mayank, who has been a topper in studies since childhood, has excelled in every class with his hard work and dedication. After completing his school education, Mayank entered the field of engineering and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Even during his studies, his goal was clear—a career in which he could use his knowledge and skills to serve society. After completing engineering, Mayank started working as a senior officer in a multinational company. Despite his professional life in Bengaluru, he dreamed of taking his career to new heights. His hard work, discipline and perseverance enabled him to secure 14th position in the 66th BPSC exam in his very first attempt.
Studying in a disciplined manner leads to success: Mayank
While talking to the media, Mayank told that due to his job, he was able to study only for 3-4 hours a day. He devoted his Saturdays and Sundays entirely to studies. According to him, studying in a disciplined manner despite lack of time is the key to success. Mayank prepared for the interview as per his profile. He paid special attention to his district, job, graduation subjects and optional subjects. Along with this, he made a habit of reading newspapers daily to prepare for current affairs. Mayank also practiced online mock interviews, which helped him boost his confidence. During the interview, most of the questions asked him were related to his optional subject Sociology, current job and current affairs. These included topics like Gyanvapi issue, Sri Lanka crisis, and vaccine programme. Mayank says that anyone can achieve success in this examination by regular studies and adopting the right strategy.
