Sunita Williams does not need sympathy … Why did Astrophysicist Neil Degrass Tyson say this in the EXCLUSIVE interview?

New Delhi:

The whole world has breathed a sigh of relief from the return of America’s astronaut Sunita Williams and her colleague Buch Wilmore. This journey of these two was scheduled for eight days but was drawn for nine months due to technical flaws. After a long journey, now the biggest challenge before them is the gravitational of the earth and re -mourning in normal life. Famous Astrophisist Neil Degrass Tyson said in a conversation with NDTV that Sunita and Buch would need a little time to recover.

Tyson said in the interview that Sunita and Buch are professional astronauts, who are selected not only on the basis of physical but also emotionally strong. When you are emotionally stable, the journey of nine months instead of eight days does not cause trouble for you. They did not panic nor take any such step that would threaten the security of the crew. Therefore, I never worried about their safety, even if the rest of the people were upset. They do not need sympathy, they are very strong.

Long migration and physical challenges in space
Sunita and Buch left for ISS on 5 June last year via Boeing Starlineer Capsules. But due to some problems, his return was delayed. During this time the US had been held till the presidential election, but the astronauts kept waiting for their return with patience. Tyson said that many methods of exercise are available on the ISS, which does not make the muscles of astronauts completely weak. However, the weightlessness in space affects their ability to identify ‘up’ and ‘below’, as there is no use of inner ear balance mechanisms.

Referring to the experiences of his astronaut friends, Tyson said, “They usually get cured within a week. But do not give them glass glass in the initial days, because their muscles are weak and their hands can leave a glass. So the first few beverages would be better to give in plastic cups.”

Astronauts are mentally strong
Tyson rejected the questions arising about the mental state of Sunita and Buch. He said, “NASA chooses its astronauts on both physical and mental strength.”

Effect and rehabilitation of gravity
The level of gravity in the earth and space varies. The muscles used in everyday tasks work less in space, which weaken them. That is why after return, astronauts have to undergo strength training and mobility exercise. Tyson said that this process is normal and there is nothing to worry about.
