Punjab farmer leaders protesting at Khanauri and Shambhu borders on Friday appealed to the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) to support and strengthen the movement of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal without any delay in view of the “deteriorating” health of his farmer leader. of. Leaders of SKM (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) made this appeal to a six-member committee of SKM, which visited the Khanauri agitation site on Friday.

SKM leaders stressed on unity among farmer organizations for a joint fight against the Center to accept the demands of farmers.

Fast continues for 46 days

SKM is a joint platform of more than 30 farmer organizations, which inquired about Dallewal’s health. Dallewala’s fast unto death entered its 46th day on Friday.

The six-member committee included farmer leaders Balbir Singh Rajewal, Darshan Pal, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Raminder Singh Patiala, Jangveer Singh and Krishna Prasad.

The visit of SKM leaders to the Khanauri agitation site came a day after the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ in Moga passed a ‘unity resolution’, asking the central government to accept the farmers’ demands, including a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP). A call was made for a joint fight against.

The six-member committee invited SKM (non-political) and KMM for a meeting in Patiala on January 15 to seek solidarity among farmer organizations for a joint fight against the Centre.

Appeal to strengthen the fight against SKM

SKM (non-political) leader Kaka Singh Kotra told reporters at the Khanauri agitation site on Friday that he welcomed the six-member SKM committee on their arrival at the Khanauri border and said that he has invited them for a meeting on January 15.

He said, “We have told them that Dallewal is not well. We have appealed to them (SKM) that now is not the time for meetings. This is the time to support and strengthen the Morcha.

Another farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar said that he has appealed to SKM to strengthen this fight.

He said, “Dallewal’s condition is critical. Considering his health, we all should strengthen the movement without any delay. If there is any difference, it can be resolved later.

On indefinite fast from 26th November

SKM (Non-Political) convenor Dallewal is on an indefinite hunger strike since November 26 last year on the Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana demanding various demands of the farmers.

Their demands also include demand for legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.

Earlier, while talking to journalists, SKM leader Balbir Singh Rajewal called for keeping aside differences in the fight against the Centre.

He also expressed concern about Dallewal’s health.

Rajewal said, “We have come here to give them a letter and have decided to fight this movement unitedly and register victory.” We will hold a meeting on January 15 to decide the outline.

Rajewal said that now all the farmer organizations joining the movement against the repealed agricultural laws will take this movement forward and win it.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala visited the Khanauri agitation site and inquired about Dallewal’s health.

Surjewala said that the demand of the farmers is what Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised them and this promise was a law guaranteeing MSP.

He said, “I have assured Dallewal ji that we are with him and the law guaranteeing MSP is of paramount importance for us.”
