It is being told that soon the Regional Transport Officers in the entire state will start issuing temporary permits of bus operations for various routes.
Temporary permits of buses were not being issued since January 1, 2025, by an order from the Gwalior bench of the High Court.
Due to this, the wheels of four thousand buses came to an end across the state. These were buses which were received temporary permission on the basis of not having adequate buses on various routes.
New Year 2025: On the first day of the year, the wheels of buses stopped due to non -release of permits
- It was said by the High Court that the system of temporary permits is arbitrary. Under the law, only the Deputy Commissioner of Divisional Transport has the right to issue such permits.
- There was no Deputy Commissioner of Transport in the state, in such a situation, the release of new permits had stopped. Due to the closure of the permit, passengers were not getting adequate number of buses on many routes.
- At the same time, bus operators were not getting permits to take marriage, Manglik work, Mahakumbh and other places.
- Some permits have also been issued by the Bhopal RTO on the oral instruction of the Transport Commissioner.
- The process of issuing temporary permits from other regional and district transport offices of the state is likely to begin in the next few days.
- Due to this, buses operating on 25 percent temporary permits closed on various routes will start running on the roads again. This will remove the problems of passengers.

13 thousand buses on temporary permit in the state
Govind Sharma, president of Madhya Pradesh Prime Route Bus Association, said that there are more than 37 thousand passenger buses in the state, which are running on various routes. Of these, 13 thousand buses are running on temporary permits. Due to non -release of temporary permits from January 1, the buses closed, whose permit period has been completed.

According to the bus association, for temporary permit, tax is to be paid at Rs 200 per seat, per kilometer. With this value, the permit fee of a bus ranges from 24 to 30 thousand rupees every month.
