New Delhi. India has started an operation to root out narco terrorism through sea route. Indian Coast Guard first broke the back of Pakistan and now it is Myanmar’s turn. The Coast Guard has geared up to curb any such activity in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone i.e. EEZ and as part of this, on November 23, the Coast Guard’s Dornier aircraft noticed a suspicious boat in the Indian EEZ near Andaman Nicobar. .
The Coast Guard took immediate action and stopped the boat and searched it. The Coast Guard officials were left in tears after seeing what was found during the search of the boat. This entire boat was full of drugs.

According to sources, boxes of tea bags were kept in this boat and those tea bags were filled with white powder. When the drug test was done using a portable test kit as per the protocol, the white powder turned out to be nothing but drugs. According to sources, this drug is methamphetamine, which is also known as pink drug or yaba.
The surprising thing is that the quantity of the drug was not just one or two kilos but was 5500 kilos. About 3000 packets of two kg each were recovered from the boat. Its price in the international market is in crores. Six sailors from the boat have also been detained and further investigation is underway. So far, this is the first time that the Coast Guard has seized such a large consignment of drugs at once.
After land route, pink drug is being sent through sea route
According to sources associated with security agencies, earlier this drug was being sent to India through land route from Myanmar. Most of its cases have been reported in Mizoram. Since Mizoram is a dry state and people there use drugs for intoxication, it is easily consumed there.
Due to the ongoing civil war in Myanmar, drug smuggling has become the biggest source of income for the rebels, but since the security forces have increased the strictness on the India-Myanmar border, there has been a tough time for organizations operating in Myanmar on land as well as at sea. A new method of drug smuggling has also been adopted through.
The drug seized by the Coast Guard is known by different names such as Yaba, Pink Drug or Metaamphetamine… The color of this drug available in pill form is pink, due to which it is known as Pink Drug. goes. This pill reaches big cities of India via Myanmar. The profit in this drug is very high, the pill which is sold for just Rs 10 in Myanmar, is sold for Rs 300 per pill on its way to Mizoram and for more than Rs 2000 per pill on its way to other metros like Delhi, Mumbai. Myanmar’s drug route includes India, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia and it is from here that they are smuggled.
