Story is based on true incident
The story is of 2017. Single mother Ujma Ahmed (Sadia Khatib) had gone from India to Malaysia in connection with work and there she meets Tahir (Jagjit Sandhu) of Pakistani origin. Soon the friendship between the two becomes friendship and then falls in love. At the same time, Uzma knows that her daughter in India has become a victim of Thalysemia disease. Tahir tells Uzma to come to her country to Pakistan by giving her love and treating her daughter. Uzma reaches Khyber in Pakistan. After reaching Khyber, Tahir rapes Uzma. He also tries to sell it, but later marries him. Ujma’s life in the name of Nikah becomes sex slaves. Ujma also knows that Tahir has married many more women and everyone’s life is worse than slaves. Uzma somehow reaches the Indian embassy in Pakistan, where she begs helping for help. Deputy Commissioner JP (John Abraham) and his team are united for help, but Tahir and his terrorist companions will not let it happen. How does Uzma return to India. This is the story of that.
Film merits and flaws
The story of the film is based on the true incident. Backdrop has Hindustan and Pakistan, but the treatment of the film is different. Like every other Hindi film, Pakistan has not been cursed in every other dialogue. The film also shows the people of Pakistan as a help. Yes, the film has not missed showing a mirror to Pakistan through some dialogues in a tricky manner, but the main focus of the film is to show the pain of the people trapped in other countries and also tell how diplomat works on the soil of other countries keeping their lives at risk. It is a thriller film. Starts slow and grows slowly. In the beginning of the film, John’s character sees Uzma’s character with suspicion. Ujma also starts doubting for once because the story started. The thrill has been enhanced in the film’s climax, which has made the film fun. Talking about the flaws related to the script, it is a film based on a true event, but as an audience, you also want some more twist and turn on the screen. Along with this, Uzma Ahmed’s family also feels the need to show the family associated with India. John’s look is one aspect in the flaws, which sometimes seems more artificial on the screen. In other aspects of the film, Pakistan has been brought alive on screen in the cinematography of the film. The film, based on the true incident, the actual footage of Sushma Swaraj, Uzma Ahmed and JP Singh has been used, which further increase the credibility of the film. The song of the film does justice to the music story.
John in a different way from his image
Talk about acting John Abraham has appeared in a completely different image from his action image. He has changed his body language and voice and brought the character to the screen well. Sadia Khatib’s work is excellent. He has brought both the pain and panic associated with his character. Actress Revathi has left her mark in the role of late External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. In the film, both actors have done amazing work by Bhavani Muzammil, who were seen in the role of Ujma’s husband and her friend. He is not an actor but a real character. Ashwattha Bhatt is also in his role. Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi have also done justice to their role. The rest of the actors have also done a good job.
