Navdunia Representative, Bhopal. A sensational incident took place during the public hearing on Tuesday in the Collectorate premises. Hautam Singh parked his car in front of the main gate of the Collectorate building and set it on fire at around quarter to one. This incident created an atmosphere of panic in the campus.
There was a crowd around the Collectorate at the time of the incident. As soon as the car caught fire, there was chaos. According to eyewitnesses, after setting the car on fire, Hautam Singh climbed onto the roof of the burning car before the fire and spreading Collectorate complex guards brought him down and evacuated the people present at the spot.
Government vehicles were immediately taken out
During this time, the government vehicles of District Panchayat CEO Rituraj Singh and other SDMs standing in the parking lot were immediately taken out. After the incident, Kohefiza police reached the spot and detained Hautam Singh, his brother Rai Singh, mother Shakkar Bai and two other people. Everyone was taken to the police station for questioning.
Old land dispute became the cause of arson
The reason behind the incident is said to be an old land dispute. In fact, on October 14, 2010, Shailendra Patel, resident of Arera Colony, had signed an agreement with Raghunath Singh, resident of Barkheda Nathu, for 1 crore 28 lakh 50 thousand rupees of 13 acres of land.
Rs 10 lakh was also given as advance payment. But, Raghunath Singh delayed the demarcation citing pending revenue issue. Raghunath Singh later died.
His heir, wife Shakkar Bai and sons Hautam Singh and Rai Singh started fighting this case in the court. The lower court ruled in favor of Shailendra Patel, but the case is pending in the High Court, Jabalpur.
Attempt to create pressure in public hearing
Hautam Singh has been demanding the authorities to resolve the matter in the public hearing. Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh has clarified that this matter is pending in the High Court.
Such cases can neither be resolved by the revenue officers nor can they be heard in the public hearing. Even before this, Hautam Singh had tried to put pressure on the then SDM Akash Srivastava.
Case registered against farmer family
Kohefiza police station has registered a case against the farmer and his relatives for taking a vehicle inside the collector’s office and setting it on fire without permission. A case has been registered against him for unauthorized entry, arson and obstructing government work.
However, no one has been arrested yet. According to Kohefiza police station, a case has been registered in the police station on the complaint of Nazir Ijaz of the Collector’s office. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-3 Shalini Dixit said that a case has been registered against accused Hautam Singh, his mother and others and investigation has been started.
Whatever decision the court takes will be valid.
The matter is pending in the High Court. Whatever decision the court gives will be valid. It is not possible to resolve this through revenue officials or public hearing. – Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Collector Bhopal
