New Delhi:
There is also a topic in the political discussions happening in Bihar today whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar will come to political. These speculations started when supporters of the Janata Dal (United) put up posters outside the party office in Patna. These posters wrote a message in support of Nishant Kumar. One of these posters wrote, “Bihar demand, Nishant for hearing, thank you very much.” Since then, the discussion in Bihar is intensified that Nishant will contest the assembly elections to be held this year. Nishant’s father or his party JDU has not given any official statement on this subject.
Nishant Kumar’s activism
Nishant has studied Commerce Sisis from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) located in Mesra, Jharkhand. A park located in Kankarbagh in Patna is named after Nitish’s wife Manju Sinha. After garlanding her mother’s statue in this park in February 2017, Nishant said, “I will never enter politics. I have accepted spirituality.” His statement had put an end to the discussions of his coming into politics, but for some time Nishant has been increasing his public presence. Recently, he went to his ancestral home in Bakhtiyarpur with Nitish Kumar. During this, he appealed to the public to support his father and JDU. He appealed to the voters to make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister of Bihar again.

The special thing here is that neither Nitish Kumar nor JDU has said anything about Nishant Kumar coming into politics or not. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, a senior leader of JDU minister in the Bihar government, told the news agency ANI that the party will accept whatever decision Nitish Kumar will accept it. “As far as the political future of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant’s son Nishant is concerned, this party has been established by Nitish Kumar. They are the leaders of it. He is the only decision in this party. He is finally decided.
Politics of familism in Bihar
At the same time, some other senior leaders of JDU believe that Nishant is ready to enter politics. Giving an example of other political families, he said that in 2014, Lalu Prasad Yadav declared his son Tejashwi Yadav as his successor and Ram Vilas Paswan handed over the leadership of his party to his son Chirag Paswan.
Union Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi also welcomed the possibility of Nishant entering politics. From Newz Agency ANI, he described Nishant as qualified and competent and said that children and family of many leaders in India have come into politics. If Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant wants to enter politics, then there is no need to discuss it. If he comes into politics, we will welcome him.

What do leaders of other parties say
At the same time, Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Kumar Singh greeted Nishant in a conversation with news agency ANI. At the same time, Tariq Anwar said the Congress MP that he was still away from it due to Nishant’s lack of interest in politics. But Nitish Kumar always wanted his son to come into politics … Maybe Nishant Kumar has made up his mind to enter politics, so such discussions are happening.
Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Yadav says that on the speculation of Nishant coming into politics, he said that if questions are being raised, then the Chief Minister should come forward and clarify the situation whether he is coming into politics or not. Tejaswi has not reduced the attack on Nitish Kumar. He calls him tired Chief Minister. He has also been saying that the Chief Minister is now in a state of unconsciousness.
Nitish Kumar is the longest Chief Minister in Bihar. He has sworn in as Chief Minister nine times so far. He became the Chief Minister for the first time in March 2000. He was sworn in as Chief Minister in August 2022 for the last time. Nitish Kumar has been opposed to familyism in politics. On this basis, he has been criticizing RJD and LJP. But if Nishant will enter politics or not, then in what role, the answer will give time to come.
