Shastri said, “I got these parts of Shivling 21 years ago. Earlier, I was kept by my uncle. He had ordered to be established. This is the real idol of Somnath. It has been 1000 years. This was given to my uncle by his guru Pranvendra Saraswati. After that my uncle worshiped it for 60 years. This idol has come to me, him and his guru from the Guru-system. “
He further said, “1,000 years ago this Shivalingam fell 3 feet and hanged 2 feet above the floor despite gravity. The invaders carried out several attacks to destroy this Shivalingam. The invader Mahmud Ghaznavi killed about 50,000 people to enter the Somnath temple. He looted all the valuables of the temple and destroyed Shivalingam. ”
The priest says that soon after Mahmud Ghaznavi destroyed the holy Shivling, various saints gathered its broken pieces. Made many idols from him and worshiped him for years. After this, the saints have unanimously decided that they will be re -established in the temple when the right time comes. He said that his uncle has ordered him to install at least two idols in the temple.
