There is panic after finding patients of Japanese Encephalitis in Madhya Pradesh… Know the symptoms and how dangerous this disease is.

Naiduniya Representative, Gwalior. Japanese encephalitis virus has increased concern. Two new patients have been confirmed in the government residence near the Hanuman temple with Sagartal tank. 11 samples were sent to the microbiology lab of Gajararaja Medical College for testing.

In the investigation, the reports of 30 year old woman and 56 year old man came positive. The virus was confirmed in a 14-year-old girl two days ago. So far, three patients suffering from Japanese encephalitis have been found. There was a stir in the health department after two new patients were found.

The team of Malaria Department arrived to conduct the larva survey. The veterinary department conducted a survey and searched for pigs, but not a single pig was found.

Samples of 11 patients were taken, 2 found positive

  • In the report of Microbiology Lab of Gajraraja Medical College, Rekha Sharma (30) and Rajendra Prasad (56) were confirmed to have Japanese Encephalitis virus. The reports of nine came negative.
  • Pathologist of District Hospital Murar, Dr. Harendra Singh, Epidemiologist Dr. Mahendra Piprolia, District Malaria Officer Dr. Vinod Kumar Doneria along with the team had reached the government residence near Hanuman Temple near Sagartal Tank.
  • Samples of 11 people including the girl’s relatives were taken. No travel history of the positive patients has been found. Pigs were also not found in the same area. In such a situation, the health department team is investigating the reasons for the virus reaching the government residence.

The team will check the health of positive patients

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sachin Srivastava said that after the 14-year-old girl was found infected with Japanese Encephalitis, other people were tested. Two new positives have been found in this. Their health will be checked by sending a medical team. The team of Malaria Department has conducted larva survey in the entire government house. Larvae have not been found in government housing.

Symptoms and danger of Japanese encephalitis

  • Japanese encephalitis is a dangerous viral infection spread by mosquitoes, which affects the brain. This disease spreads through the bites of infected mosquitoes.
  • Most of the cases have mild symptoms. Such as fever, headache and vomiting but in severe cases problems like swelling of the brain, seizures and coma can occur.
  • Due to this disease, seizures and neurological symptoms are more common especially in children. The risk of this disease is higher in areas where there is lack of sanitation and mosquitoes breed rapidly.
  • Studies show that traveling to places where the virus is already present may increase the risk of infection.

Japanese encephalitis can have a profound effect on the brain, leading to lifelong complications such as hearing loss, weakness on one side of the body, and uncontrolled emotions.
