Ranchi University PhD Entrance Exam: Ranchi-Ranchi University has removed negative marking in the PhD entrance exam. Now marks will not be deducted for any wrong answer. Under the rules issued earlier, there was an instruction to deduct 0.5 marks for giving a wrong answer in the examination, which has been withdrawn by Ranchi University. You will get one point for correct answer. This decision was taken in the meeting of the PhD Entrance Examination Committee held on Friday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha. Now students appearing or appearing in the final post graduation examination will also be able to appear in this entrance examination. Earlier, only postgraduate students with 55 percent marks could participate. The date for applying for the meeting has been extended till January 20, 2025.

It is mandatory to deposit a fee of Rs 2000 along with the application.

According to the pre-determined schedule, the last date for submission of applications for the PhD entrance examination was fixed for January 4, 2025. The filled applications will be submitted offline to the Examination Department located at the University Headquarters. It will also be mandatory to deposit a fee of Rs 2000 along with the application. The entrance exam will be for 479 seats in 21 subjects. Out of total 1261 seats, 757 seats have been reserved for UGC NET/JRF/CSIR UGC NET and 25 seats have been reserved for Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET).

Entrance exam will be of 100 marks

The entrance exam will be of total 100 marks. 70 marks will be given in written examination and 30 marks will be given in research idea/viva etc. Out of total 70 marks, Research Methodology paper will be of 50 marks. There will be 50 questions in it, while the combined subject exam will be of 20 marks. In which there will be 20 questions. The exam will be taken on OMR sheet. All question papers will be in Hindi/English. In the meeting DSW Dr. Sudesh Kumar Sahu, Proctor Dr. MC Mehta, Controller of Examinations Dr. Vikas Kumar, OSD (Exam) Dr. Rohit Srivastava, Dean Commerce Dr. Amar Kumar Chaudhary, Dean Science Dr. Arun Kumar, Dean Social Science Dr. PK Chaudhary, Dean Humanities Dr. Archana Dubey and others were present.
