President Putin said that Russia has tested a new medium-range ballistic missile (IRBM RS-26) while attacking Ukraine. Putin warned that Russia could use it against countries that have allowed Ukraine to use their missiles to attack Russia. Along with this, Putin also threatened to destroy the American airbase in Poland. Russia said a new US ballistic missile defense base, opened on November 13 in northern Poland, is part of “dangerous plans” by the US and its military allies.
Russia will destroy American base in Poland
According to Russia, this step of America and Poland weakens strategic stability. Due to this, the level of nuclear threats may increase. In response to this type of open threat from Russia, Poland said that Moscow’s rhetoric has highlighted that NATO needs to further increase its defense capability. Polish spokeswoman Paweł Wronski said the base was built entirely for defense purposes and did not contain any nuclear missiles. These types of threats give Poland and NATO a reason to further strengthen air defense and America should also pay attention to this.
For information, let us tell you that Poland became a member of NATO on March 12, 1999. The missile base that Russia has talked about is located in Radzikovo, Poland and is part of NATO’s missile shield. NATO says that this shield is capable of intercepting short to medium range ballistic missiles.
