There are some seats in Delhi where Aam Aadmi Party has been getting a landslide victory in the last elections. These seats are seen as strongholds of Aam Aadmi Party. Burari, Matia Mahal, Seemapuri, Okhla are such seats of Delhi Assembly where Aam Aadmi Party has been getting big victories. Let us know what is the equation of these seats in this election?

Okhla Assembly Seat: Okhla assembly seat located in south-east Delhi can be seen as the stronghold of Aam Aadmi Party. Okhla Assembly seat was formed in 1993, when assembly elections in Delhi were reorganized. Since then, this seat has been dominated by various political parties, but in the last 2 elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made a strong hold here.

In the 2020 assembly elections, AAP’s Amanatullah Khan defeated BJP’s Brahm Singh by receiving 130,367 votes (66.03%). BJP candidate got 58,540 votes. In the 2015 assembly elections, Amanatullah Khan defeated Parvez Hashmi of Congress. Who was the MLA on this seat for a long time. 2013 Assembly Elections: Congress’s Parvez Hashmi had won, but his vote share had reduced due to the emergence of AAP.

What is the equation in this election in Okhla?
In this election from Okhla seat, Aam Aadmi Party has once again fielded Amanatullah Khan. The name of the candidate has not been announced yet by Congress and BJP. Okhla seat has a majority of minority voters.

Burari assembly seat is considered one of the hottest seats of North Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party has been getting a landslide victory on this seat since 2013. Burari area includes villages like Burari, Kadipur, Ibrahimpur, Mukhmelpur, Nangli Poona, Jharora, Jagatpur. Bharatiya Janata Party had won this seat in the 2008 assembly elections. In 2013, Sanjeev Jha of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won for the first time. Sanjeev Jha repeated his victory in 2015. Seemapuri assembly seat
Seemapuri assembly seat is in the possession of Aam Aadmi Party since 2013. Earlier Dharmendra Singh had won the election from this seat and after that Rajendra Pal got success in 2015 and 2020. Rajendra Pal had won this seat by more than 55 thousand votes in 2020. Seemapuri assembly constituency is located in the north-eastern part of Delhi and consists of various residential and commercial areas. In 2008, Veer Singh Dhingan of Congress had won. In the 2020 election, AAP’s Rajendra Pal Gautam won by receiving 88,392 votes (65.82%). His nearest rival Sant Lal of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) got 32,284 votes (24.04%).

Matia Mahal assembly seat is one of the historically and culturally important areas of Old Delhi. Narrow streets, problems with old pipelines and business establishments are the characteristics of this area. Matia Mahal assembly seat is dominated by Muslim voters. Shoaib Iqbal has dominated the elections held till 2020, who has won this seat on tickets of different parties. In the 2020 assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Shoaib Iqbal defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ravindra Gupta by a margin of 50,241 votes. Aam Aadmi Party has made Somesh Shaukeen its candidate from Matia Mahal.
