Another incident of fraud by changing ATM card has also happened in Indore. Earlier, similar cases were reported in Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur recently. Fraudsters confuse the ATM holder and secretly change the card after seeing the PIN. After this they go to another ATM and withdraw money.

Indore. After Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur, now an incident of fraud by changing ATM cards has come to light in Indore too. The swindler engaged in conversation and changed the old man’s ATM card. After checking the password, he also withdrew Rs 82,500 within minutes. A complaint of fraud has been lodged in Chhatripura police station. Complainant Ravindra Shukla (MOG Line) was withdrawing money from SBI ATM located in South Rajmohalla on Saturday.
Suddenly a person came and engaged them in conversation. The accused changed Shukla’s ATM card. Within some time he withdrew Rs 82 thousand 500 from Shukla’s account.
Shukla is a freelance writer. He told the police that he got information about the fraud through SMS. The police is writing a letter to the bank and getting the CCTV footage.
In all kinds of incidents, swindlers have the same method. First they enter inside the ATM chamber and start engaging the ATM card holder present there. Meanwhile, he slowly checks the PIN of the card and also changes the card.
Four accused of cheating on car rental arrested
- Indore Crime Branch has caught a four-member gang involved in misappropriation of luxury cars. Seven cars have been recovered from the accused. The accused used to contract cars and take them on rent.
- A member of the gang is in jail for drug trafficking.
- According to Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya, the police had received information that the accused were going to destroy the car in Lasudia area.
- The police raided and caught the accused Waseem Abdul Rasheed resident of Swarnbagh Colony, Mitul alias Akshay David resident of Golden Farm Society Niranjanpur Dewasnaka, Amjad Ahmed Khan resident of Patnipura and Aftab Akhtar Khan resident of Gauhar Nagar.
- During interrogation, it was told that the accused used to take cars on rent by promising people thousands of rupees per month as rent.
- The accused used to promise to give the cars on rent to government offices and officers. According to the police, one accused Shabhum alias Sunny MD supplies drugs.
