Former New Zealand captain Tim Southee announced his retirement on Friday.
New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee will retire from Test cricket at the end of the series against England starting on November 28. Saudi will play his last Test match at his home ground at Seddon Park in Hamilton on 15 December.
35 year old Saudi said- If our team qualifies for the WTC final, I will be available. Saudi is New Zealand’s top wicket taker in all three formats. He has 770 international wickets in his name.

It was my childhood dream to represent New Zealand. It has been the greatest honor and privilege to play for the Black Caps for 18 years, but now the time has come for me to step away from the game that has given me so much. Test cricket holds a special place in my heart, so playing my last Test against the same country against which my Test career started so many years ago is very special for me. I will always be grateful to my family, friends, coaches, our fans and everyone associated with the sport who has supported me and my career over the years. It’s been an amazing journey and I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Took 770 wickets in international cricket Tim Southee has been New Zealand’s most successful bowler. Saudi has taken the maximum number of 770 wickets for New Zealand in all three formats of international cricket. Saudi has so far played 104 Tests, 161 ODIs and 125 T20 matches for New Zealand. Took 385 wickets in Test, 221 in ODI and 164 in T-20.
Saudi has represented New Zealand in 4 ODI World Cups, 7 T20 World Cups, two Champions Trophy tournaments and the World Test Championship final of the 2019–21 cycle.
New Zealand team announced, Williamson returns Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will return in the three-match Test series against England. He could not play in the series against India due to injury. The first match of the series will be played in Christchurch from 28 November. The second match will be played in Wellington from 6 December and the third in Hamilton from 14 December.
