Today in History 26th February: On this day, India had avenged Pulwama by destroying terrorist hideouts of Pakistan

Today in history 26th February: To say that the month of February is the shortest month of the year, but it is recorded in history with very big events. Talking about 26 February, a few years ago an incident will be fresh in everyone’s mind, when the Indian Air Force aircraft crossed the Line of Control and targeted the terrorist camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot, Pakistan. Earlier on February 14, the suicide bomb attack on Indian security personnel in Pulwama had shattered the entire country. 40 soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force died in the attack and Pakistan’s terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for the attack. The date of twenty -six February has also been witness to another major incident. In fact, on 26 February 1857, the first spark of rebellion against the British was erupted in Bengal, which turned into a flame of public outrage. This is called the first public revolution against the British in the country.

• 1967: The Soviet Union conducted an underground nuclear test in East Kazakhstan.
• 1976: The US conducted a nuclear test at the Nevada test site.
• 1991: After capturing Kuwait for nearly seven months, the Iraqi troops were driven out of Kuwait by the army of America and allies. Saddam Hussain announced the return of his soldiers from Kuwait on Iraqi radio.
• 1993: Six people were killed and more than 100 injured in a bomb attack on the World Trade Center in New York. This attack surprised the people of America, because this was the first such attack on the superpower.
• 2011: The President of Algeria officially terminated the Emergency imposed in the country 19 years ago due to the changing political situation of Arab countries.
• 2019: Indian Air Force targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan to avenge the Pulwama attack.
• 2023: Australia defeated South Africa by 19 runs in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and won the title for the third consecutive time.
• 2024: Maryam Nawaz, a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, was sworn in as the first woman Chief Minister of Punjab province of Pakistan.
