Today In History 2nd January: According to the Gregorian calendar, the third day of the year witnessed many important events in the country and the world. The most special thing about this day is that India’s first female teacher Savitribai Phule was born on this day. . Savitribai Phule, born on January 3, 1831, was the first principal of India’s first girls’ school and the founder of the first farmers’ school. Savitribai lived her entire life like a mission.

- An important event of January 3, 1993, was that the world’s two superpowers, Russia and America, agreed to halve their nuclear weapons stockpile.
- On January 3, 2021, the number of people who lost their lives due to Corona virus infection in America crossed 3,50,000. Till this date, America has reported the highest number of deaths due to Corona virus infection in the entire world. In Brazil, 1,95,000 people died due to this deadly virus till January 3, 2021.
- In the year 2024, on January 3, 103 people died and 188 were injured in two blasts in Kerman city of Iran. The blasts took place at an event organized near the tomb of General Qasim Suleimani, the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, in Kerman on the fourth anniversary of his assassination. General Qasim Sulemani was killed in a US drone attack in 2020. This attack was called the deadliest terrorist attack in Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
