2025 is proving to be great for the automobile industry. Retail vehicle sales of vehicles in the country increased by seven percent to 22.91 lakh units. This means that demand in the Indian market is increasing continuously, especially passenger vehicles, two -wheelers, two -wheelers and tractors There has been a tremendous surge in sales. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) released a report on Thursday stated that the total sales in January 2024 were 21.49 lakh units, which was 1.42 lakh more this year.

Sale increased in every category, people are buying vehicles fiercely

FADA President CS Vigneshwar said that this time every segment was recorded in sales of two-woles, 3-woweles, passenger vehicles (PV), tractors and commercial vehicles (Cv). This trend indicates growing consumer trust and stable economy in the market.

16% growth in passenger vehicle (PV) sale

In January 2025, sales of passenger vehicles increased by 16% to 4,65,920 units. The main reason for this is the launch of new models, marriage demand and easy finance from banks. Deelers said that less discounts were given than last year, yet there was a great jump in sales.

Two -wheeler (2W) sales gained 4%

In January last year, 14.65 lakh two-wheelers were sold, this time the figure reached 15.25 lakhs. Sales increased by 5% in urban markets, while in rural areas this growth was 4%. Two-wheeler dealers say that people are shopping more with easy loans and new models from banks.

7% rose in sales of three -wheelers (3W) vehicles

A total of 1,07,033 three -wheelers were sold in January, which is 7% higher than last year. There was an increase in sales due to increasing demand for electric auto and surge in local transport business.

5% increase in tractor cell

93,381 tractors were sold in January, which is 5% higher than last year. Government subsidy and better crop production for farmers is believed to be the main reason for this.

8% growth in commercial vehicle (cv)

A total of 99,425 commercial vehicles were sold in January 2025, which is 8% more than the previous year. This growth was seen from the increasing demand for infrastructure projects and transport sector.

What do dealers say?

According to the dealers, the demand is showing improvement and this year people are expected to continue to increase shopping. However, some challenges also remain. Some buyers are finding it difficult to take loans due to increase in blessings. Sales may slow down a bit due to the problem of cash flow in rural areas. Some customers may avoid shopping due to uncertainty in the market.

What will be the trend next?

  • FADA says that the start of 2025 has been excellent and growth may continue in February.
  • 46% of the dealers believe that sales will increase further.
  • 43% say that sales will remain stable.
  • 11% feel that sales may decrease slightly in February.

The auto industry is moving forward with a strong start this year. If the interest rates decreased and the market remains stable, then in 2025, the sale of vehicles can make even higher records.
