Trump imposed ban on this app of Biden administration as soon as he became President, dream of illegal immigrants to go to America broken

New Delhi:

For millions of people, the dream of settling in America has been shattered. This is because a sign of Donald Trump has closed the doors of his dream of going to America forever. Actually, Donald Trump has closed the CBP One mobile app within a few hours of becoming the President of America. Let us tell you that this mobile app was launched by US Customs and Border Protection. Through this app, legal status has been given to lakhs of illegal immigrants and those seeking a place in asylum.

CBP One app was launched in 2020

When the CBP One app launched in 2020, it was used only to schedule border inspections of cargo from commercial trucking companies. But in 2023, the Biden administration expanded its usefulness to include unauthorized and illegal immigrants who sought asylum in America for protection from violence, poverty or persecution in their country.

In three months the app opened the way for illegal immigrants to come to America

Within three months, the Biden administration expanded it to make it the only way to seek asylum at the US-Mexico border, and then the only way to make an asylum appointment. Because of this, the app immediately started becoming very popular and about 10 lakh people got appointments with the help of the app.

Appointments were available for asylum in America

Under this scheme, illegal and unauthorized immigrants could already apply for appointment through the CBP One app. Every day, the app gave appointments to 1,450 applicants through a lottery system and once approved, illegal immigrants got legal entry into America. Besides, they were also given legal status to live and work in America.

Donald Trump had been criticizing this app

Its speed and scale soon drew heavy criticism from Donald Trump and his allies. The condemnation and criticism regarding the app continued for one and a half years, until Donald Trump won the US presidential election for the second time. He strongly opposed illegal immigration and made election promises to bring comprehensive changes in American immigration policy. He also talked about “deporting millions of illegal aliens.”

App banned as soon as he took charge

On January 20, when Trump took the oath of office, one of his first moves was to sign a record number of executive orders – one of which dealt with massive restrictions and changes to the immigration system. In this, he immediately banned the CBP One app. With a stroke of his pen, the app was suspended and all existing and future appointments were postponed indefinitely, closing the only way for refugees to come to the US.

Donald Trump also talked about imposing heavy duty of 25% on Mexico and Canada

However, Donald Trump did not stop here. His first day’s executive order on immigration restrictions also includes declaring a “national emergency at the southern border” with Mexico. He also announced that the military would be deployed within days to stop all illegal entry into the United States. Furthermore, Donald Trump also announced that his administration will start imposing a hefty 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada because they are allowing a large number of people to cross the border illegally.
