Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena had mocked Manmohan Singh by calling him ‘Hijra’: Now Priyanka Chaturvedi is blaming Modi government for ‘defaming’ the former PM.

Just hours after the death of Manmohan Singh, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi on Thursday (26 December 2024) made the death of the former Prime Minister an issue of political allegation and tried to make political gains.

Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted and alleged that the BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to tarnish the image of Manmohan Singh. He claimed that the words of condolence expressed by BJP leaders reflected ‘hypocrisy’.

Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “This cabinet led by the Prime Minister may say words to condole the demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh, but the actions and allegations made against him can never be forgotten – the allegations to tarnish his image, shameful allegations An attempt to impersonate, character assassinate and harass a great man.”

He further said, “Whatever they say tomorrow will only be hypocrisy. History will judge his behavior appropriately.”

Although Priyanka Chaturvedi made the occasion a point of political debate, it became clear that the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader ignored the comments made by her own party on Manmohan Singh. Especially when she herself was the spokesperson of Congress and later joined Shiv Sena.

In 2012, Uddhav Thackeray had made fun of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by calling him a ‘wax effigy’.

On the issue of inflation, he had said, “For the last 7-8 years we have been seeing that there is not much difference between him (Manmohan Singh) and the wax figure.”

Just a year later, in 2013, Uddhav Thackeray had strongly criticized Manmohan Singh by calling him ‘Eunuch’.
