Mahashivaratri festival is celebrated with enthusiasm and devotion throughout the country. On this day there are special rituals in the major Shiva temples. The news is from Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal. All preparations have been made here for the convenience of devotees.

Naiduniya, Ujjain. In the world famous Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple, the temple doors will open at 2.30 pm on Tuesday-Budhwar for Mahashivaratri. With this, the process of common philosophy will start. Devotees will see Lord Mahakal for 44 consecutive hours.
During this time, the sequence of Mahapuja of Lord Mahakal will continue in the planet. According to the worship tradition of Jyotirlinga, the four Prahar of Lord Mahakal will be worshiped. The temple administration has made special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. There will be a provision of entry from different doors for general, VIP and old and disabled devotees.
When and when Aarti Puja will be done in 44 hours
- There will be Bhasma Aarti after the opening of the temple’s doors at 2.30 pm on Tuesday-Budhwar.
- There will be a Aarti from 7.30 am to 8.15 am on Wednesday.
- There will be Bhog Aarti from 10.30 am to 11.15 am.
- There will be government worship of Lord Mahakal from Tehsil at 12 noon.
- Worship will be done on behalf of Holkar and Scindia dynasty from 4 pm.
- From 7 pm to 10 pm, Koteshwar Mahadev will be worshiped and Sehra will be adorned.
- From 11 o’clock in the night, there will be Mahakal’s Mahapuja in the sanctum sanctorum, which will run all night.
- Sehra darshan will be held from 6 am to 10 pm on Thursday.
- There will be Bhasma Aarti in a day at 12 noon.
- There will be childbirth and bhog aarti at 2 pm.
- The boards will be closed after the sleeping Aarti at 11 pm.
This will be a philosophy system-a normal visitor
Common devotees: Karkaraja parking will be seen from Bhil Samaj’s Dharamshala, Gond Basti, Chardham Temple, Shaktipath, Shri Mahakal Mahalok, Mansarovar Facility Center, Ganesh and Karthikeya Mandapam via Mahakal Tunnel.
VIP: Devotees coming under VIP and protocol will be given entry into the temple from Neelkanth Gate on Begambagh Marg.
Older and Divyang: Entry for such devotees will also be from this door. After darshan, we will get out of this route.
Early darshan facility will be closed
The Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee has decided to postpone the early darshan system of Rs 250 on Mahashivaratri. Devotees will be given only darshan from the same arrangement through the Karkaraj parking route.
Parking will remain here
Indore: The parking of vehicles coming from Indore Road will be in Shani Temple Complex, Prashanti Dham, Government Engineering College, under Harifatak Bridge, Hat Bazaar Complex, Mannat Garden near Rudraksha Hotel.
Dewas, Maksi, Agar: Engineering College and Prashanti Dham campus will remain for the passengers coming by these three routes.
Badnagar and Nagda: Parking of vehicles coming from these cities will be on Mullapura Paddy Procurement Center Complex, Karthik Mela Ground, Badnagar Road Adinath Jain Boarding, Dhinin and Nirmohi Akhara Complex on Badnagar Road.

Free bus facility will be available
The Mahakal Temple Committee will operate a free bus service to transport devotees from remote parking sites to the temple with the help of district administration. Counters will also be set up for availability and other information of buses at parking sites.
Laddu Prasad counter will be held from here
Laddu Prasad counters will be set up together at Narsingh Ghat Tiraha, which will be constantly open for the prescribed time for darshan.
This facility will be available free
- There will be Juna stand on the Bhil Samaj Dharamshala and Jhalia Math.
- There will be a system of fruit for devotees in Mahakaleshwar Annakshetra.
- Drinking water will be arranged after every 200 meters on the three km long route.
- There will be treatment at the health center of Karkraj, Chardham, Harsiddhi, Triveni Museum.
