UP Budget 2025-26: Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget of FY 2025-26 in the UP Assembly today. The Yogi Adityanath government has presented a budget of Rs 8,08,736 lakh crore for the state, which is 9.8 percent more than the current financial year budget. About 20.5 percent of the budget of ₹ 8,08,736 lakh crore will be for the capital outlay. In this budget, 22 percent for infrastructure development, 13 percent for education, 11 percent for agriculture and associated services, 6 percent for medical and health, 4 percent for social security programs.

The UP government has given special attention to research and development as well as IT in this budget. In order to promote the education of girls in the state, along with the arrangement of co-education, the construction of girls hostels, empowerment of girls, Meena Manch, self-defense training and sensitization etc. activities are being implemented. A new scheme is being introduced to give scooty to the meritorious girl students receiving higher education on the basis of eligibility. There is a provision to give Rs 55,000 in the event of a total of 2 daughters of registered workers under the Girls Marriage Assistance Scheme and Rs 61,000 in the event of inter -caste marriage.

Tablet will also be given to students in financial year 2025-2026

The Finance Minister said in his budget speech that 49.86 lakh smart phones/tablets have been given under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme. Tablets will also be provided under this scheme in the financial year 2025-2026. The Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign has been launched in the year 2024-2025 with the aim of providing financial resources for setting up new micro industries by connecting educated and trained youth of the state with self-employment. A provision of Rs 1000 crore is proposed in the budget of FY 2025-2026 for the scheme. A system of Rs 225 crore is proposed for the Chief Minister’s Yuva Swarozgar Yojana.

Under the PM Mitra Yojana, a provision of Rs 300 crore is proposed for the expenses related to the establishment of Textile Park. A provision of Rs 150 crore is being made for the implementation of Uttar Pradesh Clothing Garmenting Policy, 2022. A provision of Rs 400 crore is proposed for Atal Bihari Bajpai Powerloom Power Flat Rate Scheme. Under the Chief Minister’s Gram Industries Employment Scheme, proper arrangements are proposed in the year 2025-2026, under which bank loan will be provided to 800 beneficiaries, so that employment will be available to 16,000 people through new enterprises to be established.

UP government’s special emphasis on better infrastructure

In view of the state government’s target up to the state government’s economy, the scheme of widening/strengthening/construction of roads has been introduced for the development of North South Corridor in the state, for which a budget system of Rs 200 crore is proposed. A total budget system of Rs 1450 crore is proposed for the bridge and rail upright/subsequent bridge in the state. A provision of Rs 2900 crore is proposed for the widening/reinforcement of state highways. A provision of Rs 3000 crore is proposed for maintenance of roads from the State Road Fund and Rs 2800 crore for construction.

A provision of Rs 2700 crore has been proposed for maintenance of rural roads and culverts of the state. A provision of Rs 1600 crore is proposed for the construction of rural bridges for agricultural marketing facilities. A budget system of Rs 1200 crore is proposed for the construction of flyovers at bypasses and ringroads and intersections of cities to facilitate the movement of city dwellers. A budget system of Rs 800 crore is proposed for the widening/strengthening/construction work of the routes for the Industrial/Logistics Park. A budget system of Rs 200 crore is proposed for the new scheme for the construction of Navnirman Reconstruction / Missing Links of rural routes under the Chief Minister Village Scheme.
