Schools will open after a month due to cold in Jammu and Kashmir

Announcing winter holidays in Jammu and Kashmir, winter vacation for all schools up to class 5 has started from December 10, 2024. All schools will remain completely closed during this period, so that children can be protected from the wrath of cold and they can spend safe and comfortable time with their families. These holidays will end on February 28, 2025, when schools will be reopened regularly. This step has been taken in view of the increasing cold and snowfall in the winter season, which is especially heavy in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Giving priority to the health and safety of children, the Education Department has taken this decision on the basis of the advice of the local administration and the Meteorological Department.
