Naiduniya Representative, Ujjain (Vasant Panchami 2025). Vasant Panchami, the festival of arrival of Rituraj spring, will be celebrated on 3 February. It will start from the courtyard of Lord Mahakal. In Bhasma Aarti, the priest will offer yellow spring flowers and gulal to Lord Mahakal.
During the day, the festival will be celebrated at Sandipani Ashram, the place of education of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna will be dressed in yellow clothes, decorated with spring flowers and offered sweet yellow rice. Vasant Panchami is also the day of appearance of Goddess Saraswati. Saraswati worship will be held in the Veda Pathashala and Gurukuls of the city.
Spring festival takes place in all temples
Pandit Mahesh Pujari of Mahakal Temple said that Vasant Panchami is the festival of knowledge, meditation, joy, enthusiasm and Nav Pallava. Therefore, devotees of both Shaiva and Vaishnav sects enjoy the hymns, worship and celebrations of Hari and Har. That is why Vasant Utsav is celebrated equally in the temples of Shaiva and Vaishnav traditions.
Abhishekam with Panchamrit containing Mahakal’s case
Lord Mahakal will be anointed with Panchamrit containing saffron in Bhasma Aarti at 4 am in the Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple. Later, they will be dressed in yellow clothes and decorated with spring yellow flowers. After this, yellow mustard flowers and gulal will be offered to the Lord. According to the tradition of the temple, Gulal is offered to God in the daily aarti from Vasant Panchami to Holi.
Sandipani Ashram: Children will be worshiped
On Vasant Panchami, Abhishek worship of Lord Krishna with saffron water will be done at Sandipani Ashram, the place of education of Lord Shri Krishna. The Lord will be made to wear spring yellow clothes. After this, Aarti will be performed by offering sweet yellow rice.
Day of appearance of Mother Saraswati
Priest Pt. Rupam Vyas told that Vasant Panchami is the day of appearance of Mother Saraswati, hence in the school of Lord Shri Krishna on this day, Paati Puja is performed and the education initiation ceremony of children is done.
Parents from all over the country bring their small children who are starting Vidya studies for the first time here to perform Paati Puja. It is believed that the children who study education by worshiping Pati in Sandipani Ashram are brilliant.
Neel Saraswati: Consecration will be done with ink
There is a small temple of Mata Neel Saraswati near the Dharamshala of Chaurasia Samaj near Singhpuri in the old city. There is a tradition of anointing Goddess Saraswati with ink in this temple. Students come to anoint the Mother Goddess with ink on the day of Vasant Panchami and before the annual examination. It is believed that students achieve success by the grace of the Goddess.
