At the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Virat Kohli was asked the question whether he cannot return from retirement from T20 format for Olympics? Responding to this question, Kohli said, “For the Olympics? No. If we are playing for the gold medal, I can just come back for a game, win a medal and then return home.” Let me tell you, cricket has returned to the Olympics after 128 years. Cricket has been included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Kohli, 36, is one of the most fit cricketers in the world. However, when he first came on stage, Kohli was not as fit. What did he inspire him to start his fitness journey, while speaking on this, Kohli said that this change came after his initial struggles in international cricket.

He said, “After some difficult tips, I changed when I saw that players stayed on the field for longer. Things were not difficult from the perspective of the team but my mother was difficult to explain. They felt that I was looking ill. I told them that the world is talking about my training methods and I am not sick. I felt that I was able to do things better.”

During this, Virat Kohli also said that the IPL has played an important role in the involvement of cricket in the Los Angeles Olympics. Kohli said, “It will be a great experience to become an Olympic champion. IPL has played a big role in it. It has brought cricket to such a point that it is now part of the Olympics. This is a big opportunity for some of our players.” He said, “The players will experience this for the first time. I am sure we will be close to that medal. Both women and male teams.”

Kohli also said that the women’s premiere league has changed a lot in women’s cricket in the country. He said, “Now the attitude has changed. I think the players are doing very well in the rest of the sports and they are getting appreciation from the country.”
