Voting tomorrow in Maharashtra, 9.7 crore people will exercise their franchise for 4136 candidates.

Maharashtra election voting and results: The struggle for power in Maharashtra has now reached its final stage. The election campaign has ended and voting on 20th November and counting of votes on 23rd November will reveal whose government will be formed. Elections are being held for 288 seats in the state. 4136 candidates are trying their luck in this election. Of these, 363 are women candidates. 100186 polling stations have been set up in the state. There are 9.7 crore voters for this election in Maharashtra and out of these, 5 crore are male and 4.7 crore are female voters. There are also 6101 other voters.

In the 2024 elections, the parties of the Mahayuti alliance are contesting on 298 seats. Of these, BJP is contesting on 149 seats, Shiv Sena on 81 seats, NCP on 59 seats and other parties on 6 seats. Whereas, MVA is contesting on 290 seats. Out of these, Congress is contesting on 101 seats, Shiv Sena UBT on 95 seats, NCP Sharad Pawar on 86 seats and other parties on 8 seats. Apart from this, VBA (Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi) is contesting on 200 seats, MNS 125, AIMIM 17, BVA (Bahujan Vikas Aghadi) 8 seats.

Fahad Ahmed (husband of Swara Bhaskar) from NCP Sharad Pawar’s party is contesting from Anushaktinagar seat and Nawab Malik’s daughter Sana Malik is also contesting from the same seat. Zeeshan Siddiqui (son of Baba Siddiqui) is contesting from NCP from Vandre East seat. BJP Mumbai President Ashish Shelan is in the fray from Vandre West seat. From Mahim seat, MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray is from his own party, from Worli, Aditya Thackeray is from Shiv Sena’s UBT and from here Shiv Sena has fielded Milind Deora. Shaina is contesting NC elections from Mumba Devi seat on Shiv Sena ticket. BJP Assembly President Rahul Narvekar is contesting from Colaba seat. Ajit Pawar’s nephew Yugendra Pawar is contesting from NCP’s Sharad Pawar from Baramati seat and NCP chief Baramati is contesting from the same seat.

Now if we talk about 2019 elections, then BJP and Shiv Sena had contested that election together. After the elections, the alliance between the two broke over the post of CM and Uddhav Thackeray formed the government with Congress and NCP. If we look at how many seats each party got party wise, BJP and Shiv Sena got 26 seats (BJP 11 and Shiv Sena 15) from Konkan region and got 48.1 percent votes. Congress and NCP had got 7 seats each (NCP 5, SP 1, CPM 1 and Congress 0) from this region. Others had got 6 seats from this area. 39 seats of the state assembly come from Konkan.

If we talk about Marathwada, the most important region of the state after Konkan, BJP and Shiv Sena got 28 seats (BJP 16, Shiv Sena 12). This alliance got 40.8 percent votes. Congress and NCP got 16 seats (Congress 8, NCP 8). Both got 34 percent votes. Others had got two seats. 46 seats in the state come from Marathwada. Others got 2 seats from Marathwada.

36 seats of the state assembly come from Mumbai area. In the last election, out of these 36 seats, BJP and Shiv Sena had got 30 seats (BJP 16 and Shiv Sena 14). The alliance of NCP and Congress had won only 6 seats (Congress 4, SP 1 and NCP 1). There are 47 seats in North Maharashtra. From here BJP and Shiv Sena got 22 seats (BJP 16, Shiv Sena 6). Congress and NCP got 20 seats each (Congress 7, NCP 13). Others got 5 seats from North Maharashtra.

62 assembly seats come from Vidarbha region. From here, BJP and Shiv Sena alliance got 33 seats (BJP 29, Shiv Sena 4). Congress, SWP and NCP got 22 seats (Congress 15 NCP 6 SWP 1). Others got 7 seats from Vidarbha.

58 seats in the state come from Western Maharashtra. BJP Shiv Sena had got 22 seats (BJP 17 Shiv Sena 5). Congress NCP had got 31 seats (Congress 10 NCP 21).

Overall, in 2019, out of 288 seats in the state, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance got 161 seats and in this, BJP got 105 seats and Shiv Sena got 56 seats. Congress and NCP alliance had got 102 seats. In this, Congress got 44, NCP 54, SP 2, CPM 1, SWP 1 seat. Others had got 25 seats in the state.
