The Meteorological Department has warned about western disturbance. According to meteorologists, a new western disturbance will bring a change in the weather patterns between January 10 and 12. Due to this, there may be light rain in North-West India including Delhi. According to IMD, this will reduce smog but will not have any significant impact on the temperature.
Westerly wind wreaks havoc in Bihar
There is a possibility of increase in cold due to icy westerly winds in Bihar. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog has covered many districts of Bihar since late night. The level of fog in many districts has reached orange alert level. Yellow alert has been issued due to dense fog in the districts of North Bihar. Due to this cold and fog, transport services are being affected. Citizens have been advised to remain alert.
Cold outbreak continues in Punjab and Haryana
The cold wave continued in Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday also. The lowest temperature of five degrees Celsius was recorded in Gurdaspur district. There was fog in some parts of both the states in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Amritsar, Punjab was recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees less than normal.
Orange alert issued in Uttar Pradesh
Orange alert has been issued in many areas of Uttar Pradesh regarding cold weather and fog. Some areas were seen wrapped in a blanket of very dense fog. The minimum temperature recorded in the capital Lucknow on Tuesday morning was 11 degrees Celsius. There is likely to be no major change in the maximum temperature during the next 4 days. Except in the central part of the state where there will be no major change during the next five days. The Meteorological Department has predicted a gradual drop of 2°C-4°C in the minimum temperature at night.

According to IMD, there will be fog in the states of North India on January 8, while there are chances of rain in parts of South India. According to the IMD report, light to moderate rain may occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, parts of Manipur, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, West Bengal, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 7 days.
