Sunita Williams returned to earth

Astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore have returned to Earth through SpaceX’s dragon capsules with other two astronauts. Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore flew from the test vehicle Starlineer for just eight days on 5 June 2024 and have returned after nine months. The Starlineer vehicle of Boeing was about to bring him back to the earth, so he had to wait so long. He was safely launched on the coast of Florida by Elan Musk’s company SpaceX’s Dragon Capsule. Sunita Williams and Buch will join the 45-day rehabilitation program to adapt to the gravity of the Earth after spending nine months in the Wilmore space.

Chandrayaan-5 approval of Mili Central Government

The central government has approved the Chandrayaan-5 mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It will have a rover of 350 kg. This mission will be completed by the year 2040. India has joined hands with Japan for this. Chandrayaan-4 will be sent before Chandrayaan-5, which will be launched in 2027 to bring samples from the moon. Apart from this, the government has also approved a plan to set up Indian space stations by 2035. ISRO has completed three Chandrayaan missions so far. The success of Chandrayaan-3 has included India in the list of countries which have made soft landing on the surface of the moon.

Dr. Shivkumar took the post of CEO of ANRF

Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman has taken over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Research Foundation (ANRF). Professor Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), gave the charge of CEO of National Research Foundation to Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanraman. Professor Karandikar was working as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Research Foundation (ANRF).

Chafekar Recap appointed Seventh Executive Director of ISC

Former Additional Director General of Indian Coast Guard, VD Chafekar has been appointed as the seventh Executive Director (ED) of Recap ISC. Recap ISC is a regional agreement among governments to increase cooperation against marine theft and armed robbery targeting ships in ISC Asia. In the 19th Governor Council meeting of the Recap Information sharing Center (ISC), it was told that Chafekar will take over the post of ED for a three -year term from April 1 to March 31, 2028 this year.

Boxing will be included again in Olympics 2028

The International Olympic Committee has approved the re -inclusion of boxing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. World Boxing President Boris van Der Worst welcomed the decision, saying that this is a very important decision for Olympic boxing and it has strengthened the restoration of boxing in the Olympic Games. Boxing was not included in the initial sports program of the 2028 Los Angeles Games approved by the International Olympic Committee Session in February 2022 due to ongoing concerns about the then International Federation. Last year, the International Olympic Committee made it clear that the National Boxing Federations would have to make a consensus about a new international federation to include boxing in the 2028 Olympic Games sports program. After evaluation of various criteria, the International Olympic Committee Executive Board decided to temporarily recognize world boxing with 84 National Federations.

India Masters won the International Masters League T20 title

India Masters, led by Sachin Tendulkar, won the first International Masters League T20 title by defeating Brian Lara’s West Indies Masters by 6 wickets at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Batting first due to the superb bowling of Vinay Kumar and Shahbaz Nadeem, the West Indies Masters could score 148 runs for 7 wickets. Chasing the target, India Masters won just 17 overs 1 ball. Ambati Rayudu played a brilliant innings of 74 runs off 50 balls and was declared a Player of the Match.

India won 33 medals in Special Olympic World Winter Games

India ended their campaign by winning a total of 33 medals including eight gold, 18 silver and seven bronze in the Special Olympic World Winter Games in Italy. Vasu Tiwari, Shalini Chauhan and Tanya won the silver medal in the 25 meter snowing event and Jahangir won the bronze medal in the same category. In the Alpine Skiing category, Radha Devi and Nirmala Devi won silver medals in Intermediate Slalom and Abhishek Kumar won another silver medal in Novis Slalom. Aakriti won a bronze medal in the 100m classical technique in the cross country skiing. The Indian women’s team won a bronze medal in the floorball event. Special Olympic World Winter Games were held from 7 to 17 March in Turin, Italy.

57th National Kho Championship to be appointed in Odisha from 31 March

One of the most prestigious Kho Kho Championships in India, the 57th Senior National National National National Kho-Kho Championship will be held from 31 March to 5 April in the District Sports Complex in Puri, Odisha. A total of 74 teams will participate in the championship organized under the aegis of the Indian Kho-Kho Federation, including teams from thirty states and major institutional teams like Airport Authority, Railways, BSF, Maharashtra Police and CISF.

All We Imagine Edge Lite to Best Film Award at Asian Film Awards

At the 18th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, Payal Kapadia’s film All V Imagine Edge Lite won the ‘Best Film’ by Payal Kapadia’s film All V Imagine Edge Lite, Black Dog (China), Tiki Cometh (Japan) and Twilight of the Warriors: Wald in (Hong Kong). The award was held at the Jiku Center in West Kovalon Cultural District in Hong Kong. At this film festival, Sandhya Suri won the award for the film Santosh in the ‘Best New Director’ category and Shahna Goswami won the Best Actress Award. The Asian Film Awards showed 30 best films from 25 countries and regions, which were competing in 16 categories. South Korean Horror Exudence was the most nominated film of this year with 11 nominations.

Indian scholar Gayatri Chakraborty Spivak Nominated for 2025 Halobberg Award

Kolkata -born literary theorist Gayatri Chakraborty Spivak has been nominated as the prestigious 2025 Halobberg Award winner in Norway. The award committee said that he has been recognized for ‘comparative literature, translation, answer-colonial study, political philosophy and his unprecedented interdisciplinary research’.

Dr. Achyut Prasad Vagle became Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University

Professor Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University in Nepal. According to Section 13 (4) of the KU Act, 2048, the Prime Minister of Nepal and the Chancellor of the University, KP Sharma Oli has appointed Dr. Vagale to this post. The government formed a three -member committee to recommend the Vice Chancellor in the university.
