New Delhi:
Student Parliament was organized by Prashant Kishore, founder of Jansuraj, at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday, where there was a lot of ruckus. The police lathicharged. The administration says that Prashant Kishore had not taken permission. In a special conversation with NDTV, when PK was asked why he came to protest without permission, he said – ‘Gandhi Maidan does not belong to anyone’s father, so he had to take permission.’ Let us tell you that the candidates have been protesting for the last several days demanding BPSC re-exam.
…that’s why I joined the demonstration
Prashant Kishore is being accused of instigating students, but he said, ‘I do not participate in any demonstration. Was not involved in the students’ demonstration for the first 10 days. I believed that it is a matter between the government and the students, the discussion should be held at the same level. We joined because the police chased and killed the protesting students 5 days ago. Sonu Yadav, a child from a poor family, also committed suicide. After this I felt that we should stand with them. There should not be a wrong FIR against the students sitting on strike. That is why I had decided to go to the protest site. We were protesting peacefully.
Why is permission needed?
On the question of not getting permission from the administration, Prashant Kishore said angrily, ‘If five thousand children have to be found somewhere, then where will they be found? Which child has so much open space where five children can meet? Gandhi Maidan is a public place. Thousands of people come there for a walk every day. If five thousand students are talking together in one corner of the huge Gandhi Maidan, then what permission is required for that? And why should permission be required? Gandhi Maidan does not belong to anyone’s father. It belongs to the people of Bihar. It belongs to those people of Bihar who want to protest peacefully. The students sat there under the Gandhi statue for six hours.

What happened after all…
Let us tell you that despite not getting permission to protest on Sunday, Prashant Kishore reached Gandhi Maidan with his supporting students. Students came out from Gandhi Maidan under the leadership of Prashant Kishore to surround the CM residence. On the way, the administration explained it to him again and again. Still the students did not agree and started breaking the barricades and moving forward. Whereas Prashant Kishore returned midway and sat near the Gandhi statue and left from there. The police administration used force on the protesting students, using lathi charge and water cannon.
